We can’t reveal who made this Grenache, but we can say that they have picked up some of Australia’s highest winemaking honours – namely, TWO Bushing Kings and a Jimmy Watson.

In 2021 we separated the fruit into two individual fermenters, each of which was vinified and matured under the direction of a couple of old school winemakers, both of whom were remarkably confident they knew better than the other... When former WWII fighter pilot Doug Collett purchased the Woodstock vineyard in 1973, he took ownership of some of McLaren Vale’s oldest Shiraz and Grenache vines, dating back over a century. Ever since, three generations of the Collett family have produced characterful wines that capture the region’s vibrant heritage. This Shiraz is a prime example, with layers of generous dark fruit and warming spice.
