One of the vineyards that was established 150 years ago, Stonyfell has since become a household name due to their quality and innovation in the Australian wine industry. The Baton Shiraz Cabernet is an iconic blend that has complexity and balanced well between fruit's concentration and acidity. It is layered with a solid core of dark red fruits, gentle oak and finely textured tannis, which gives structure and length.

Varietal aromas of mint and cassis are well matched with subtle vanillin oak on the nose. The palate is supple and smooth the blackcurrant flavours framed by fine ripe tannins. Try it with roast lamb.

Bernoota was the original name of the Lake Breeze homestead and now the Bernoota Shiraz Cabernet is rightfully considered to be one of Australia's favourite Shiraz Cabernet blends. And they don't come much better than Bernoota for the price! Not only is it rich and luscious, filled with blackcurrant, spice and pepper, it has a touch of dark chocolate on the finish. The 2009 is a 60% Shiraz and 40% Cabernet blend and spends 20 months in a mixture of French and American Oak that will see the wine not only be enjoyable now, but develop beautifully in the bottle for a further 8 to 10 years.

Traditional open fermentation was employed followed by maturation in French oak barriques for 20 months, prior to bottling. The wine displays a lifted aromatics of black fruits and violets, along with some cedary oak nuances. The concentrated palate has a lovely silky texture, showing chocolate and cassis flavours and a wonderfully long finish.

Fruity aromas and subtle hints of choc mint make Colonel & Merchant Shiraz Cabernet is a must have for the weekend. A well-rounded palate of sweet and savoury includes dark berry fruits and velevety tannins with a strong finish.
