Lark Hill sits high a top the Canberra District wine region, some 840m above sea level. This altitude allows their fragrant aromatic whites to truly sing. In the glass the 2014 Gruner Veltliner, (or GruVe as we like to call it) is very pale straw with fine green hue. The nose is lifted with a flinty minerality and a loaf of citrus (more fresh limes than lemons) with a subtle herby peppery and floral notes. Again the citrus is prevalent on the palate followed by a fine peppery note. The mouth watering acidity combines with the fruit and peppery notes to deliver a long and fresh finish. Drink now or until 2025 with careful cellaring.

In keeping with the Australian cool climate style of Riesling, the Murrumbateman Riesling is a particularly dry and refreshing wine. Flavours of lemon and citrus are complimented by notes of green apple. Murrumbateman Riesling is clean and fresh on the palate. Very refreshing to taste.

With its fresh, intense lemon tonic, pear, apple, oyster shell aromas, superb lemon curd richness, persistence and minerality, Crawford River Riesling reflects the modern idiom of the Riesling style. The dry-grown vines, first planted in 1975 by John Thomson, are deeply anchored in gravelly friable basalt loams over clays and an ancient limestone seabed. Second generation winemaker Belinda Thomson, with her father John Thomson, continues the philosophy of minimal intervention and movement during vinification. The cold-settled juice is batch fermented around 12° - 15° C and left on lees for around six weeks before bottling in September.

Bunch pressed and in part wild fermented. Partial malolactic fermentation imparts further complexity. A beautifully textured and complex wine.
