Mazza specialises in Spanish and Portuguese varieties in WA's Geographe, located 200km south of Perth. This is still the only planting of its kind in the region.Deep red purple. Violet, blackcurrant, plum and tobacco. Intensely flavoured with loads of black and purple fruit yet retains a degree of elegance with polished tannins and savoury herb and spice elements on the complex finish.

This is a 60-40 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine is elegant and refined showing a clear red-purple colour; a fresh, bright and breezy wine, with red fruits to the fore and balanced tannins to hold the structure together.

Grape variety - 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Oak maturation - 100% of the wine is aged in French oak barriques (20% new) for 15 months. Colour - Deep red with purple hue. Aroma - Ripe with dark fruit characters and toasty-cedar oak. The wine opens with mulberry, currant and blackberry with underlying complexity from bay leaf, gravel dust and subtle perfume. Palate - Full with a soft supple texture and fine tannins. Once again there are ripe fruit characters of mulberry, blackberry and boysenberry with cedar oak, bay leaf and lavender. The wine has a long soft finish. Food matches - Meat dishes, saucy pastas and cheeses. Peak drinking - Drinking well now but will develop further over the next 5 to 8 years.

Displaying a perfumed nose of dark berries and savoury characters.The palate is full of juicy berries and earthy notes that are well supported by fine grained, integrated tannins.

60% Cabernet 40% Merlot make this blend very approachable. The lovely rich fleshy fruit of the Merlot filling out the palate and complimenting the more leaner style of the Cabernet a luscious mouthful of red wine made to enjoy.

Juicy, with red and black fruits, blood orange and herbaceous flavours with natural acidity and a smooth finish.

Since the first release in 2002, Fraser Gallop Estate have gone from strength to strength, picking up a Jimmy Watson Medal along the way. The Cabernet Merlot is a lovely example of the blend which is so at home in Margaret River. Leafy mulberry on the nose with cassis in the background, and a soft , flavoursome palate. Delicious!
