Church Block first appeared back in 1972 under the watchful eye of Greg Trott who was taken by one of the original vineyards that ran alongside the small Bethany Church, across the road from Wirra Wirra's old ironstone cellars. Over the last 4 decades, Church Block has become one of Australia's favourites with its rich, full-bodied style consisting of swathes of black and blue fruits and a nice, smooth finish that seems to last ever so long for such an affordable red wine.

Bernoota was the original name of the Lake Breeze homestead and now the Bernoota Shiraz Cabernet is rightfully considered to be one of Australia's favourite Shiraz Cabernet blends. And they don't come much better than Bernoota for the price! Not only is it rich and luscious, filled with blackcurrant, spice and pepper, it has a touch of dark chocolate on the finish. The 2009 is a 60% Shiraz and 40% Cabernet blend and spends 20 months in a mixture of French and American Oak that will see the wine not only be enjoyable now, but develop beautifully in the bottle for a further 8 to 10 years.

Driven by our organic passion and natural ‘raison d’être’, this super-premium NASAA Certified Organic and Bio-dynamically grown wine is specially made Preservative Free. A deep purple in colour with ruby hues. The nose exudes aromas of fresh blackcurrant, cassis and tobacco leaf. The palate is rich in blackcurrants and ripe red berry flavours with fine-grained tannins blending seamlessly with the fresh lifted fruit flavours. It's medium body and elegant acid structure lends a lovely balance and complexity.

Aromas of raspberry, red rose petal perfume, forest floor. The palate shows summer berry fruits, wild herbs, lively mouth feel with light sandy tannins. Raspberry chocolate bullets, black tea leaves and gutsy earthiness to finish, pleasant after grip and a sweet trickle of fruit on the back palate.

This alluring and unashamedly bold Shiraz has hints of spiced plums, blackberry jam and cherry all at the fore and finishes with coffee cream, licorice and vanilla. Full bodied with vibrant berry fruit characteristics, yet elegant with restrained tannins, resulting in a soft mouthfeel. This Boxer is sure to be a knockout!

This richly flavoured wine is jet black with brilliant sheen. The fresh forest berry fruits are balanced with a smokey cedar like oak lift. The palate is generous, with rich upfront cassis fruit and hints of cinnamon spice. Sublime oak flavours give great persistence.

Tasting Notes Aroma Lifted varietal aromas of red currant, summer berries and cranberry combine with bright violet perfume and subtle spice. Palate The palate is medium to full bodied with bright fruits, red plum, blackcurrant and cherry balanced with oak spice and a hint of dried herbs. Lengthy tannins and a fine acid line give structure and length to the palate yielding a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth but will also develop beautifully with time.

As the back label proudly tells you the Captain is “A dashing presence of noble birth, well travelled, able to mix in all companies but happy to stand proudly alone. Broad-shouldered and smooth, he’ll add a combination of class and excitement, but when the chips are on the table, he’ll never let you down…” You'll find him bold, polished, of great stature – but with a devil-may-care, attractive appeal. We managed to secure the last stocks of this Trophy and double Gold-medal winning vintage. In the winery: Selected bunches were hand picked in the third week of March and gently crushed into open top fermenters.In the glass: Vibrant, dense red black.On the nose: Appealing mix of super-ripe black fruit with classic mint herbaceousness. On the palate: Excellent balance with a powerful black fruit core cloaked with bright spice and herb and underlying cedary oak.
