Michael Fragos grew up in McLaren Vale, and spent 14 years at Tatachilla before taking over at Chapel Hill in 2004. A three-time ‘Bushing King’, Michael has also been named best winemaker on the planet! James Halliday notes that his “wine quality is unfailingly excellent” . This one has an expressive nose of blackcurrant, bay leaf cigar box and chocolate. The palate is medium to full-bodied, beautifully structured, with a powerful complexity, fine-grained tannins, velvety texture and long, long finish.

This richly flavoured wine is jet black with brilliant sheen. The fresh forest berry fruits are balanced with a smokey cedar like oak lift. The palate is generous, with rich upfront cassis fruit and hints of cinnamon spice. Sublime oak flavours give great persistence.

Tasting Notes Aroma Lifted varietal aromas of red currant, summer berries and cranberry combine with bright violet perfume and subtle spice. Palate The palate is medium to full bodied with bright fruits, red plum, blackcurrant and cherry balanced with oak spice and a hint of dried herbs. Price’s No.8 is a medium-bodied style, bringing together the classic combination of Shiraz and Cabernet. This delicious drop is a skilful blend of barrels of aged Cabernet with newer Shiraz to create a journey of seasons. The No.8 is sweetly fruited and beautifully lifted, the bouquet shows dark plum, blackcurrant, warm spice and toasted nut characters. The palate is equally attractive with succulent fruit intensity, well supported by plump mouthfeel and fine tannins leading to a lingering silky finish. Colour: Deep and dark crimson with a slight clear edge. Nose: A mix of blueberry and blackberry fruits. Plums and raisins with some cool earthy aromas fill the nose along with subtle oak. Palate: Super smooth on the front with fine tannins and medium to full length. Well-balanced, savoury mid pallet, with seasoned oak influences delivering a silky finish.

The fruit was from a 65 year old single vineyard in McLaren Vale. Matured in French oak for 18 months, this wine is full of red fruits, tobacco, spice and fine tannins. A refreshing style with finesse.

With Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot is included in the wine for which adds a beautiful fragrance and minty undertones resulting in a very generous style.
