From red clay soils this is a more generous take on Hunter Valley Semillon. Nicely textured with lime and lemon intensity, some zesty freshness, and a long finish and lifted herbaceous characters.

The 1908 block at the HVD Vineyard was hand-picked and basket pressed, with the juice cold settled for four days before fermentation began in stainless steel tanks. The fermenting juice was then transferred to French oak barriques, 30% of which were new. The wine is balanced between primary chardonnay fruit flavours and secondary flavours, derived from the minimal solids ferment and extended yeast lees contact, resulting in this wine's texture and mouthfeel. The Scarborough Offshoot Verdelho starts with aromas of green tea with hints of tropical fruit, pink lady apples and honeysuckle. The palate shows botanical characters of sage, orange blossom, citrus rind, mint and lemon pith.

The Scarborough Offshoot Vermentino starts with aromas orange blossom, grapefruit, green pear and a hint of germanium. The full palate has lively acid followed by grapefruit and pears with a long crisp finish showing raw almonds and ginger.

De Iuliis Hunter Valley Verdelho is full of rich tropical fruit characters, including pineapple, passionfruit and rockmelon. A vibrant acid backbone complement the fruit nicely to produce an undervalued food-style wine.
