Balanced and elegant tannins, nicely integrated oak, gives the wine balance and structure. Ø WINEMAKING Each parcel of fruit is gently crushed and transferred into small open fermenters. Heading down boards keep the cap submerged for better skin contact. The fermenters are temperature controlled to provide optimum conditions. Gentle extraction is achieved by the draining of wine from the skins and returning back over. Wine is then transferred to temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for maturation. 100% Shiraz gives this wine a vibrant pink colour, lovely lifted aromas of raspberry and icing sugar. The palate vibrates with lovely rich fruit flavours finishing more in the dry spectrum.

Grape Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon 86%; Merlot 14% Purple with crimson edges looks serious in the glass. Tobacco leaf feint cassis purple plums a complex nose which adds weight to the serious theme. Quality MR Cabernet leads the charge here. A wine with high cheek- bones. Just ripe cabernet gives this sinew and poise. Merlot is subservient almost hard to detect. Terrific wine, at almost twice the price.

Nose Blue and red fruits. Satsuma plum and pink musk stick. Rose petal and dried herb, with a white pepper. Palate Raspberry and cherries, with hints of plum and spice. Generous full palate with bold yet elegant tannins. Growing Conditions Margaret River experienced warmth throughout the 2020 grape growing season. Early start of harvest and reds ripening two weeks ahead of the long-term average.

Wonderful garnet red colour showing aromas of red and blackberries and cedar on the nose. Rich forest fruits and licks of vanillin oak on the palate. Hand plunged in open topped fermenters, with nine months in seasoned French oak barriques.

The Tate name is synonymous with Margaret River after John Tate helped create arguable the regions most well-known winery, Evans & Tate. Today, Franklin Tate has brought the Tate name back to life with new, exciting terroir driven wines. Franklin painstakingly selected the very best vineyard sites, those that held unique micro-sites within them to enable him to achieve his goal of producing some of the regions best wines. This Shiraz was picked at optimum ripeness and fermented with 10% whole bunch. French barriques were used in the fermentation process to give a softness to the palate, as was a small percentage of Viognier. The result is a great Margaret River Shiraz with grounded savoury notes along with ripeness and spicy lift.

This 2014 Rosabrook Cabernet Merlot is one of the Margaret River's signature wine styles. Great licks of black fruit from the Cabernet Sauvignon interlaced with the smooth plum characters on Merlot. It is a beautifully made wine with great balance and a lengthy finish. It will be great with meat dishes or even a cheese platter. Owned by Calneggia Family Vineyards, one of Margaret River's pioneering grape growers with winemaker legend Brian Fletcher pulling the winemaking levers.
