Head Wines was started in 2006 by Alex Head. Each Head wine shows a distinctive house style of powerful fruit weight, elegance, freshness, finesse and balance which starts by farming vineyards sustainably and in some cases using organics and biodynamics.

Sourced from three vineyards at Leasingham in the Clare Valley this wine is a unique blend of three varieties originating from Spain - Tempranillo, Mourvedre and Grenache. That is why we call it 'The Spaniard'.

Mount Horrocks Semillon strikes the perfect balance between being aromatic and oaked. It also strides the line by being more full-bodied than Riesling but lighter than Chardonnay. Take pleasure as you swirl the pale straw wine in your glass, sniff the shy but appealing apple and ripe pear aromas, and sip the vibrant and refreshing fruit flavours of apple, white peach and lemon. The vanillin oak influence renders a silky texture, leading to a complex, elegant, long and dry finish. Match this wine with seafood such as oysters, crab, clams, fish and prawns. Asian chicken and pork dishes would also be favourable pairings with this drink.

Geoff Weaver has journeyed from the big end of town to a tiny, intimate pocket of the Adelaide Hills. From his role as chief winemaker for the Hardy group of companies, in 1992 he made the break from corporate winemaking to pursue his own dream on the Lenswood vineyard that he and wife Judith had started planting a decade earlier. Those vines, some of the oldest in the Hills, are really reaping the rewards of maturity. Tightly structured yet aromatically lifted wine but with a supple mid-palate and a fine, crisp finish. The nose is fresh and lively with a lifted aroma of lime blossom. The palate is fruity with a juicy zest and a fine mineral edge.

Tom Barry is a third-generation master winemaker, and this Gold winning Clare Valley riesling is only further proof of his expertise. Serve as a refreshing aperitif before seafood. Aromas of white nectarine flesh, fresh lime and fragrant orange blossom combine with crushed wet limestone. The palate is well weighted on entry, with full drive and purpose throughout. This Gruner Vetliner by Longview has a brilliant clarity and pale straw colour. Aromas of pear, white pepper and celery notes are evident and the palate is dry and spicy with a lingering finish of white peach, underpinned with lovely refreshing acidity.

From a single block on our family owned vineyard based in the cool Great Southern, our flagship Ferngrove Cossack Riesling exudes fresh cut lime, pink grapefruit and zesty lemon with a long lasting minerality. Native to Australia's South West, the Cossack Spider-orchid is the common name for the endangered flora adorning the label.
