Marqués De Riscal Tempranillo displays dark cherry, with violet hues. Beautifully fresh nose of black forest fruit, liquorice and toasted nuances brought on by the oak casks. Good balance between fruit and ok on the palate, medium bodied with lovely soft tannins.

There are minuscule volumes produced of the Cirsion by Bodegas Roda (the name of the thistle which is Roda's logo) which is made from grapes specially selected for the suppleness of the tannins they deliver. Parcels selected are from low-yielding older Tempranillo vines of 45 years and more, from four vineyards. Choosing the plants with the softest tannins, this makes the wine very attractive and supple early on, but it still has great ageing potential.

This wine displays a bright bigarreau cherry colour with light red-brick tones provided by the oak ageing. It has complex and interesting aromas of ripe red fruits harmoniously integrated with spicy touches, dominating some pleasant balsamic notes. Balanced in mouth, with body and strength. This wine is made with grapes from single estate vineyards with following a criteria of ecological production.Once in the cellar, the grapes in 16 kg crates go to the table where they are selected and chosen, separating any cluster that does not meet the stringent criteria of maturity, health and cleanliness.The destemming is done directly over each tank, so the grapes arrive intact to the fermentation vessel where the maceration is performed. Even the yeasts for alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation bacteria are indigenous, existing naturally in the skins of the grapes themselves. As a result the wine transfer the same ecological character getting the title of Ecological Wine.In the nose you find a very well structured wine with some creamy and toasted barrel aging touches. In your mouth wait for a smooth entry with ripe velvety tannins. Long, elegant, fresh and very well balanced across palate.This is a great wine that definitely is worth to try. Soils in the area range from shallow red brown earths over limestone to deep fertile clay soils. A classic red blend based on the Spanish region of Rioja. A blend of 60% Tempranillo, 35% Grenache and 5% Graciano. The Tempranillo provides structure, the Grenache perfume and bright red fruits, whilst the Graciano brings layers of spice. It's medium bodied, yet full of flavour.
