Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz Mataro (also known as Mourvèdre) has a history going back to 1960 when Penfolds made a traditional "Burgundy" style. Penfolds have always loved Mataro (Mourvèdre) for its fantastic ability to blend marvelously with traditional South Australian stalwarts like Shiraz. Adding luscious complexity and palate grip, the Bin 2 is aged in older oak to emphasise the spicy savouriness of Mataro (Mourvèdre) that complements the plush richness of Shiraz.

A complex, savoury nose of spice and white pepper. Rich plummy fruit with a touch of vanilla and cedary oak characters. This Grant Burge Balthasar Shiraz is drinking beautifully now or for careful medium term cellaring.

If you love your big, bold and brash Barossa Shiraz, then look no further. Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz produce wine of utmost power and strength. Their Gnarly Dudes is a perfect example. Bold black and blue fruits dominate with a healthy smattering of oak to hold everything in place. Sumptuous!

Domaine Asmara, located in the heart of central Victoria where the Cambrian rich soil dominates the Heathcote wine region, showcases the very best of modern Australian Shiraz. They produce wines just like this Reserve Shiraz that is both complex and flavoursome. 'Asmara' translated from Indonesian to means 'Love & Passion' - a character than is intrinsic in this boutique Shiraz.

A hot dry vintage produced Cabernet grapes that were too ripe and concentrated to make table wine. The wine was fortified on skins to extract maximum colour and flavour. The wines colour is a deep brick red with fresh purple tints. It has a rich fruity Cabernet bouquet with mature grape flavours, complexed with very old fine brandy spirit used in the fortification. A true vintage port style, it is a wine of high viscosity, luscious, rich, and full flavoured, and perfectly balanced by a slightly dry tannin finish. The great length of complex flavours highlight the integration of fruit character and brandy spirit esters and oils.

Our philosophy is make wines in a low intervention way, with minimal sulphur and no other additions. Wines are carefully handled, only racked once post fermentation to high quality French Oak barrels, then to tank for bottling. No fining or filtration. • Fruit is source from and made in Orange, NSW. • Low yielding vines (15-20+ yrs old), grown above 1000 metres. • All fruit is handpicked and processed. • Only 110 dozen produced. Tasting notes: Floral nose of red and dark cherry, nutmeg, briar and cedar. This wine is more fruit forward than the 2016 and a fuller wine. It will develop further forest floor undergrowth, mushroom and truffle tones. This wine is 50% whole bunch, which brings a spicy cedar palate, fine powdery tannins, balanced by natural acidity. About the winemaker: Adam has worked vintages for premium producers across Australia and New Zealand including Crawford River and biodynamic producer Hochkirch/Tarrington Vineyards.

Named after our daughter Primrose, and in honour of her, this wine was made using the best quality Shiraz grapes we could find, an unusual practice with Rosé wines! The result is an elegant, dry wine with a light pink hue, exhibiting delicate aromas of berry and rose petals. Delicious flavours of strawberry and watermelon with a clean, crisp finish.
