Winemaker Jacob has done wonders with the 2014 vintage, producing this exceptional Chardonnay wine. 80% of the fruit was tank fermented on high lees while the remaining grapes were barrel fermented using wild yeasts. Partial malolactic fermentation followed, which gave the wine complexity, intensity and structure. The result is a modern-styled Chardonnay displaying a pale straw colour with light green hues. Blissful aromas of peach, grapefruit and citrus flow from its attractive nose, while the rich and juicy palate depicts concentrated fruit flavours that lead to a cleansing finish and a pleasing mouthfeel. Foods like creamy vegetable soups, pastas, risottos and fish pates pair well with this elegant white wine varietal.

This exquisite creation of the Robert Stein winemaking team shows a bright golden yellow hue. The luscious bouquet boasts of concentrated fruit fragrances of peach, apricot and marmalade. The rich and intense palate is brimming with juicy layers of cumquat and citrus flavours, which combined with the lingering acidity, leads to a long and pleasing finale. The wine is pale gold in colour with youthful, green hues. While extremely enjoyable now, the history of this wine shows it will gain further complexity and depth of flavour over the next 4 - 10 years. The überblanc Riesling is attributed to a über 2001 vintage, winemaker Nick Glaetzer experienced in the Pflaz region of Germany, learning first hand some of the award winning techniques used by their winemakers. Tasmanian grapes sourced for the wine display the core elements, highly regarded by the Pflaz winemakers for or elegantly structured and balanced Riesling. Delicate lime zest and floral aromas fill the glass. Further citrus flavours develop on the fresh mineral structure, enhanced by the juicy fruit flavours.
