Philosophy: In the heart of Coteaux Varois en Provence, Roseblood’s vineyards sprawl across hillsides at elevations of 1,100-1,600 feet. Roseblood is a unique rosé that embodies the rich history and cultural significance of its estate, infused with the passion of its surroundings and its owners, epitomising the Art of Living in Provence. Philosophy: The vines are situated on the crater of Provence’s sole volcano, on parcels at altitudes exceeding 1,300 feet. Approximately 50 years old and benefit from the nurturing influence of the Mistral wind. Planted in clay-limestone and clay-limestone-marl soils, the Syrah plots contain fragments of basalt in their soil composition. With well-established roots, the vines express the purest terroir essence, resulting in limited yields and, consequently, a concentration and balance in the grapes. In this blend of four emblematic Provençal grape varietals, each plays a distinctive role: Grenache contributes roundness, delicacy, and subtle aromas, while Syrah adds power and colour. Cinsault, known for finesse and fruity notes, gently balances the strength provided by Grenache and Syrah. Rolle, the iconic white grape of Provence, introduces a touch of tension, freshness, and floral notes to complete this well-balanced blend. Nose - Watermelon, Nectarine, Dried Cranberry Watermelon, mango and nectarine and Spring flowers. Palate - Round, Menthol Lifts, Basil Balsamic Strawberry Raspberry with a sort of basil-balsamic-strawberry combination that seems appropriately summery. No oak scent, but plenty of textural character that makes this about as full-bodied as pink wine gets. Finish - Raspberry, Salty, Sweet Spice A touch of menthol lifts the salty, liquorice-inflected finish.

The palate has good layers, fresh and structured with mild extract, a crisp acidity, juicy red fruit citrus notes and good length. The fruit quality was superb; the berries were perfectly ripe and full of varietal flavours. Grapes were picked as early as 4am to ensure that their delicate aromas, flavours and freshness were captured. Fermentation at low temperatures preserved the aromas of the fruit. A state of the art production process minimised the influence of oxygen, establishing an easy to drink wine with finished of red berries, grapefruit and honey. Grenache 60%, Syrah 20%, Cinsault 20%. 30% Saignee, 70% of gentle direct pressing. Fermentation between 14 degrees and 16 degrees celcius. From humble beginnings in 1880 as a truffle orchard, the vineyard was converted over to vines in the early 1900s making it today one of the largest Domaines in the AOP Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence area. The vineyard is situated 420m above sea-level and aspect is south-west which allows it to receive around 300 days of sunshine. Farmed organically, the AIX Rose is made from the top blend of Maison Saint Aix

In the 1930s, Marcel Ott fell in love with the very old Clos Mireille, overlooking the sea at La Londe Les Maures, near Brégançon. The vines soon started producing distinctive yet subtle wines. Château Romassan in Bandol was acquired by the Ott family in 1956 and following years of terracing and replanting, produces robust, harmonious and long lived wines. Cur de Grain represents wine-making genius, and today the distinctive bottle evokes the memory of the elegant amphora of centuries past. Today, 120 years later, cousins Jean-François and Christian Ott dedicate their lives to their ancestors love for Provence. In 2004, Domaines Ott* joined Louis Roederer and its fabulous selection of wine craftsmen.
