Wirra Wirra's flagship Shiraz has won many accolades over the years, including the 'world's best Shiraz'. It's loaded with distinctive McLaren Vale blueberry and chocolate characters, supported by plums, violets and spice, and tannin structure destined for 10 more years in the cellar.

The Nugan family is dedicated to showcasing the best vareitals from our finest growing regions. Dry warm sunny days with cool nights produced optimum fruit flavours. After picking, the Shiraz was crushed and softly bag pressed in traditional style to avoid the extraction of bitter tannins. The wine was fermentated in static fermenters, followed by further maturation with new and seasoned French and American oak prior to final blending.

The G.A.M. is deep purple, the nose is an intense combination of smoked herbs, liquorice and blackcurrants leading to a full bodied palate with notes of cassis and cracked pepper. Frux Frugis is Latin for fruit of the earth and is sourced from Old Vines from the finest parcels of Shiraz from the Ulithorne Vineyards. With a palate of plums, subtle spices, structural tannin and exceptionally long length, this vintage of Frux Frugis shows the reward which wonderful weather and well tended vines can bring to a wine.

Our Limited Release Shiraz is only released in years that yield exceptional quality. This release is a tribute to the diversity of the McLaren Vale region and the uncompromising craftsmanship of our Chief Winemaker. Complex spicy fruit with white chocolate and vanilla notes, displaying dark red fruit characters, plum and mulberries with hints of clove and cardamom. The refined tannin structure gives this wine great length, balance and persistence in flavour.

Exceptionally potent and powerful, initially giving the (false) impression its alcohol is more than 14%. Retasting brings it back into perspective, the two varieties bonded, yet each preserving its varietal integrity and structural architecture. A classic Australian blend of exceptional quality, destined to outlive most who taste it.
