The colour is medium density and purple edged, the aroma is of cedar and spicy cassis Cabernet and the earthy terroir character of the Whalebone Vineyard. The Shiraz plays a role in filling out the middle palate. Inky dark red/purple in colour. The nose is redolent with rich plums, dark fruits and warm spices, layered and complex. The palate is plush and generous and exhibits amazing length with detailed tannin structure. This super fine structure frames mulberry and blackberry fruits that cascade across the palate with wonderful exuberance and persistence.

A fine and quite flinty modern expression of Margaret River Chardonnay. Finer and leaner it might be in some ways, but the unmistakable power and persistence of the region still triumphs.
