The fruit was harvested in Mid-April when the skin tannins are ripe and the flavours are bold. The whole berries add some spice and complexity to the wine. Aromas of glazed plums, cloves and cracked peppercorns give way to a rich palate with hints of citrus blossom, oyster shell and vanilla pod compliment a long and complex finish, further exhibiting a bright fruit core and pure longevity of pristine tannin. The fruit is de-stemmed with no crushing of the berries so that we begin whole berry fermentation. The whole berries seem to add some spice and complexity to the wine. Our Shiraz seems to enjoy relatively cool ferments, plenty of aeration and gentle treatment. The wine is gently pressed of skins, near dryness, based on taste.The bubbly purple wine finishes its fermentation in the presence of mainly French oak, with the smallest portion of American oak. The wine is racked when it has finished its malolactic fermentation, and then once or twice more over the season based on its individual requirements. Inky dark red/purple in colour. The nose is redolent with rich plums, dark fruits and warm spices, layered and complex. The palate is plush and generous and exhibits amazing length with detailed tannin structure. This super fine structure frames mulberry and blackberry fruits that cascade across the palate with wonderful exuberance and persistence.

A bigger wine than what you might expect from Margaret River. It's power is not without balance however, and those that prefer a rich red need look no further.Inky red purple. Blackberry, dark cherry, plum, earth and chocolatey oak. A fruit and oak bomb, rich and full-bodied, with a concentrated mix of dark berry fruit, firm tannins, intense flavour richness, crunchy acidity and mocha oak. A monster!

Frankland Estate Olmo's Reward, named after Dr Harold Olmo who first identified viticultural potenital of the isolated Frankland River region, is an elegant blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot and small components of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The concentrated palate has fine grained tannins, dark chocolates and savoury earthy notes leading to a generous and long finish.

Ripe and concentrated with a fragrant perfume of violet and incense. There are ripe dark fruits of currant and mulberry with pepper and lead pencil, which are balanced by more complex notes of damp earth and cedar oak. Full, firm, and structured with fine grain tannins. Once again, ripe dark fruits show through with a slight hint of pepper. Pair with Beef eye fillet, prosciutto wrapped venison with roasted vegetables. Drinking well upon release but has the potential to evolve in the short term. Grape Variety100% Fer.

Concentrated and complex with cocoa, currant, cassis, bay leaf and dusty gravel. There is an underlying violet perfume, which is all wrapped up in savoury-cedar oak. Medium bodied with a long and seamless palate. There are ample fine grain tannins, which gently coat the mouth and will help to age the wine gracefully. Again, the palate shows a good balance between fruit and complex characters, with cassis, mulberry and currants well integrated with bay leaf, cocoa and dusty gravel. A concentrated and complex wine that will gain further complexity with age.
