Our location as one of the most South Easterly vineyards gives us a hot to cool climate site perfect for powerful yet delicate reds. Howards Nairne Vineyard is transitioning to a completely red site as a result of our unique microclimate.

A fine-boned Chardonnay that reflects vintage conditions and the character of a unique vineyard site purchased by Shaw + Smith in 2012. Inaugural vintage: 2014. Planted in 1999, the vineyard has east and west facing aspects and reaches 500 meters above sea level. The soil is brown loam over clay with some broken shale and stone on the ridges. The wine is100% hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed, then fermented and matured on lees in 500-litre French oak puncheons (30% new) for 9 months.

Rich and plump dark plum to the mid palate whilst blackcurrent, dark chocolate and mint characters from the cabernet sauvignon drives the long and memorable finish

Critics have called it : “serious Shiraz with a long and exciting future... notes of blackcurrants, cloves, leather, bay leaves and black olives are very much to the fore whole dark chocolate provides delicious support. This is seamless on the palate with bright acidity and silky tannins plus a very long finish 94pts” (Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot) and “Wonderfully ripe and enticing, the bouquet shows dark fruit richness, vanillin oak, smoked game and toasted spice aromas, followed by a concentrated palate offering terrific weight and powerful fruit intensity. A complex array of melon fig and cashew aromas is followed by a typically elegant and subtle palate with beautifully integrated oak. Petaluma had set a benchmark in Australian Chardonnay.

Henschke Julius is a classic expression of Eden Valley Riesling. An almost perfect vintage has provided the citrus blossom and lime aromas and an intense minerally structure which will develop for a decade at least.

The story of Riesling in Australia is as old as the wine industry itself. The famed Florita Vineyard is synonymous with the classic grape variety and was established by Leo Buring in 1962. In 1986 the Barry family acquired the 80 acre property and began to write the next chapter in the famous vineyard's history. Opens with powerful floral aromas of rose water, citrus blossom, pear and lime. A wine with an eye to the future. Tightly wound within clean, straight acidity. Exhibits pure lime fruit with a long citrusy finish.
