This Barrel Aged Gin combines two great aspects of the Wairarapa: native bush and Pinot Noir. Distillers and brothers Stew and Chris Reid take their Native Gin, which uses three native botanicals (Kawakawa, Manuka and Horopito), and age it for three months in ex-Martinborough Pinot Noir French oak barrels.Not only is this Gin truly reflective of the region it is produced in, but it challenges your perception of what gin can be. Better known as a Calvados producer, Guillaume Drouin continues exploring new flavour associations in his small batch gins. Seeking a perfect match with apple and juniper, Drouin has signed off on a new blend devoted to red berries. A "one plant at a time" distillation policy lets Drouin keep adjusting proportions so as to obtain the best possible result. Tasting note: [2018 edition] Clear. A crisp and robust ‘London Dry’ style gin. Batch distilled in a boutique 200L copper pot still after a 24 hour activated maceration in a sustainable neutral base spirit. Four Pillars Navy Strength is a gin very much in the style of the Rare Dry Gin but with the volume turned up slightly beyond 11. At 58.8% ABV the gin can support some more robust and interesting botanicals, so there are three new botanicals that are both new (and fresh), including fresh turmeric and ginger. Together they have heightened the spiciness of the gin, and the turmeric in particular has added weight and a lovely earthiness to the palate. Also in the botanical basket about half the normal oranges have been replaced with some explosive native finger limes, grown in Byron Bay. They have an intensity of flavour and acid that is almost impossible to believe, and in the basket they help the gin attain super citrus notes and lovely high-toned freshness.

Our barrel aged Gin is a small batch handcrafted Gin. It is made using a selection of old and new world botanicals. The Gin is then left in French and American Oak ex Barossa Valley Shiraz barrels, giving a smooth caramel richness to balance the citrus and juniper with a warm, woody finish.

Ireland's most awarded Gin, Shortcross is a classical style with a unique twist; best described as floral meadows, wild berries and grassy notes. Our small batch philosophy entails handpicking and sourcing the finest botanicals, we draw our own fresh water, distil on our small copper still and individually bottle, wax and label each Shortcross bottle.
