Willett Family Estate 4 Year Old Small Batch Rare Release Strength Straight Rye Whiskey
Note: ABV will vary from batch to batch. An American Whiskey gem and a five star bargain. Highest recommendation. 2020 batch tasted... [15ml sample] A bouquet you can really get lost in... Opens like fresh rye sour dough, turns vaguely herbal (caraway / dill) and follows in a mesmerising combination of apple mint, balsa wood and heavy vanillas. Mouthcoating, oily rye on entry. Astringent and classically spiced-up at mid palate. Mints and cherry chocolate through the finish. Seamless and sophisticated. Stays with you. Fabulous rye. 54.5% Alc./Vol. Previous batch tasted: [30ml sample] Brilliant bronze / new copper penny colour. Initial pass finds aromas of cherry ripe chocolate bar, poached peaches and vanilla. Further air contact accents white pepper, applemint and oak shavings. The lusciously toasty, perfectly-rounded delivery has impeccable wood selection written all over it: Bittersweet spices challenge the sheer weight of the rye but the grain wins out in a rush of oils, dried peach, dark rye and peppermint. Remarkably accessible at natural strength, the aftertaste turns peppery, oaky, then intensely grainy and long. Some found this a 'fruitier' / more Bourbensque style compared with the 55.8% ABV bottling. Wins on length as the flavour rebounds over minutes. Highest recommendation. 54.5% Alc.Vol. 95 points
Noah's Mill Strength Bourbon Whiskey
Note: ABV may vary from batch to batch. Tasting note: [BATCH QBC 16-25 tasted] Bright brassy copper. Dessert style opening sniffs include tea biscuits, vanilla fudge, mocha and hints of sticky date. Air contact dries and lightens the bouquet introducing liquorice root, and fresher, woody/peppery notes. Linear on entry. Mid palate is mildly bittersweet, bolder, oily, resinous, plummy, warming but keenly balanced at high ABV. Finishes with a brisk flurry of sweet baking spices and late cedary oak. 57.15% Alc./Vol.
Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select Rye Whiskey
Jack Daniels it's a legend in the world of whiskey. This iconic brand has become synonymous with quality, tradition, and a taste that can satisfy even the most discerning palate. The story of Jack Daniels begins back in the 19th century, in the small town of Lynchburg, Tennessee. It was there that a young and ambitious man named Jasper Newton Daniel, better known as Jack, set out to create a whiskey that would leave a lasting mark on the world. Jack Daniels is known for its unique production process, which sets it apart from other whiskeys. The key ingredient is the limestone-filtered water from the nearby Cave Spring Hollow, giving the whiskey its distinct smoothness and character. The grains used in the distillation process are carefully selected and milled at the distillery, ensuring only the finest quality. One of the most intriguing aspects of Jack Daniels is its charcoal mellowing process. This involves slowly dripping the whiskey through ten feet of tightly packed charcoal, resulting in a smoothness that is unmatched. This process, known as the Lincoln County Process, is what gives Jack Daniels its signature flavour profile. But it's not just the production process that makes Jack Daniels special. It's the people behind the brand, the craftsmen who have dedicated their lives to perfecting the art of whiskey-making. Each drop of Jack Daniels undergoes meticulous scrutiny and is crafted with passion and expertise, ensuring that every sip is a testament to the brand's commitment to excellence. Jack Daniels has made an indelible mark on popular culture as well. From its appearance in countless movies and TV shows to being the drink of choice for rock stars and rebels alike, Jack Daniels has become more than just a beverage; it's a symbol of authenticity and rebellion. Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select Rye Whiskey 700ml is a truly rare and exceptional grain spirit that has been released in extremely limited numbers. For the first time since prohibition, Jack Daniel's has used a new Rye recipe, resulting in a unique and complex flavour profile that is sure to impress whiskey enthusiasts. Rye has always been a part of the famous Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 grain, but it has never been in the spotlight as the lead grain. This unaged rye offers a spicy, surprisingly sweet flavour that is sure to delight the palate. This historic creation marries the smoothness of Jack Daniel's with a unique 70% rye grain bill. Complex flavors of ripe fruit mingle with light toasted oak notes to create a taste rich with spice and a pleasant lingering finish. This is a big, bold rye that does not overpower, making it a perfect choice for sipping or mixing in cocktails.
Four Roses Black Label Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Four Roses Black Label Kentucky Straight Bourbon is one of two Four Roses products that are sold only in Japan, with the other being Four Roses Super Premium. While this may seem odd, it is important to note that in February 2002, the Kirin Brewery Company of Japan purchased the Four Roses brand trademark from Diageo. Available only in the Japanese market, Four Roses Black Label is a blend of 1/2 OE and 1/2 OB mash bills and is a blend of bourbons aged up to 10 years. Floral with a hint of char on the nose and a buttery sweet chocolate palate with hints of melon and spiced oak to finish, we can see how many of the deep and layered flavours would be complimentary to Japanese cuisine and whilst it tastes unlike any other four roses bourbons we have tasted it is still has characteristics that make it unmistakably
