The premium fruit parcels used to produce this stunning Old Bush Vine Grenache were handpicked from the company owned Katunga block and Prisoner of War vineyard. These grapes were then crushed and fermented in open concrete vats, followed by daily pump over. The juice obtained after primary fermentation was drained and basket pressed. Post-maturation in American oak barriques, this beautiful Grenache flaunts a bright purple hue with a crimson haze. The perfumed nose exudes elegant aromas of cherries, chocolate, spice and rose petal. A sip of the wine presents enticing flavours of black plum, sweet, spicy raspberry, fruitcake and toffee apple. These beautiful characters are balanced by subtle savoury oak notes, ending the wine in a captivating finish. It tastes excellent with veal kidneys, grilled bratwurst and young Gouda cheese.

One of the very few examples of Carignan produced in Australia. This is the first release of this wine from Hither & Yon and it's really approachable already.Bright purple in the glass. Perfumed nose of black cherry, plum and black pepper. Light to medium weight with a fresh core of fleshy black fruits and tart red berries with good balance of acid and tannin crunch. An excellent young-drinker.

McLaren Vale is well known for its ability to make full bodied red wines, in particular concentrated Shiraz, and this deluxe wine is a perfect example.Deep, dark red. Plum, cherry compote and cedar oak aromas. Ripe, dense and juicy with loads of dark berry, plum and rum and raisin chocolate, ripe velvety tannins and toasty coconut oak. APPEARANCE: Beautifully intense purple colour with aromatics that jump out of the glass. AROMA: Pure fruited aromas of redcurrant and cinnamon follow through on to the palate with fresh acidity keeping the wine lively and vibrant. PALATE: A small percentage of whole bunch fermentation in the wine adds a savoury element and herbal notes. The Welkin Grenache is a light bodied wine that works very well in an aperitivo setting.

This small batch Grenache from McLaren Vale was a combination of three unique vineyards with different fermentation methods to create a wine with layers and complexity. It was handcrafted to produce a wine portraying the gently sloping sandy loam landscape with tranquil tree lined creek peaceful vineyard views in which it is grown. This refined and elegant, yet bold McLaren Vale Grenache was produced to showcase one of McLaren Vales greatest varietals. It uses small amounts of wholebunch in the ferment to lift the spiciness of the wine and reign in the richness. A portion of carbonic maceration adds lift and fragrance while the balance destemmed only gives power and drive. Blackcurrant, plums and hints of raspberries are entwined with spice and pepper notes. Well balanced acidity and refined velvety tannins combine with generous fruit length to create a comp.
