Little Vespa Sangiovese
This quintessential Italian style luscious red wine is redolent with sweet cherry and a rustic earthiness combined with silky tannins making it a highly desirable food wine. It's blended with Shiraz which is a particularly complimentary partner to Sangiovese as it lends bouquet and lifted berry fruit flavours, liquorice and adding structure and dimension to the wine. This blend of varieties are used in the new wave Super Tuscan wines. luscious red colur. Bouquet exhibits aromas of dark cherries, bay leaf and pancetta Palate: alive with flavours of cherries, sun dried tomatoes, liquorice balanced by chalky tannins and a lingering savoury finish. The higher natural acidity and tannin of Sangiovese allows it to pair well with many food choices, particularly tomato bases dishes and savoury Italian based dishes. Drink over short to medium term.

Giaconda vineyard was established by Rick Kinzbrunner, a mechanical engineer who became interested in wine in the early 1970's. Rick then spent the next ten years working in the industry, travelling and following his passion for wine. After a brief stint in New Zealand, he studied at Davis University in California and worked at some of the most respected wineries in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys (namely Stag's Leap, Simi and Matanzas Creek). In Europe he worked for the Moueix group in Bordeaux, co-owner of the fabled Chateau Petrus.

Dal Zotto is a family run winery in the King valley specialising in traditional Italian varietals. Their Barbera is a great example of the variety with ripe blood plums, spice, and a meaty savouriness. A great food friendly style - add a splash to boost your bolognaise!
