Affentals unique name derives from a pilgrimage chapel, which stood near the grapevines. In support of the pilgrims Ave Maria the valley was known as Ave Tal (Ave Valley) in the local vernacular, from which todays Affental (Valley of the monkeys) evolved. The origin of the Affental Wine Cooperative dates back to the year 1908. At the time, 24 winegrowers founded the Natural Winegrowing Association of Affental. From this, todays Affental Viticultural Cooperative was created over the years with approximately 240 hectares of vineyards. Grenache is Australia's signature grape variety and we're slightly obsessed with it. Our first Rose is sourced from an old, single vineyard in Berri. Beautifully pale, salmon pink with delicate arommas and lovely texture, it lives up to its name.

On the nose it is clean and intense with raspberrymelon and grapefruit underlined with a floral note of rose andbroom. The palate is dry, elegant and fresh. It can besilky and even saline.
