Michael Fragos grew up in McLaren Vale, and spent 14 years at Tatachilla before taking over at Chapel Hill in 2004. Tasting Notes Aroma Lifted varietal aromas of red currant, summer berries and cranberry combine with bright violet perfume and subtle spice. Palate The palate is medium to full bodied with bright fruits, red plum, blackcurrant and cherry balanced with oak spice and a hint of dried herbs. Lengthy tannins and a fine acid line give structure and length to the palate yielding a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth but will also develop beautifully with time.

He took the name from one of the original vineyards, which runs next to the small Bethany Church (Est 1854) across the road from Wirra Wirras century old ironstone cellars. The wine is a blend of 50% cabernet with 37% shiraz and 13% merlot delivering vibrant colour then true cabernet blackberry and cassis aromas and dominant flavour as well, while the rest of the varietal makeup adds a sweeter fruit-cored palate, full with bright red energy and comforting, easy drinking textures.
