The fruit for this wine was grown at the Hill Smith Vineyard at Woodside in the Adelaide Hills. The vines at this east-facing vineyard grow in alluvial loam, limestone, shale and quartz, at an altitude of around 400m. Thanks to near-perfect weather, 2021 promises to be one of the best Adelaide Hills vintages in recent memory.

The S&G range is the pinnacle of Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard's craftsmanship. This wine captures the quiet confidence and layered complexity of our Lenswood site. Made from 100% whole bunch pressed fruit, it delivers pristine purity with lifted notes of citrus, nectarine, white peach and nashi pear. Subtle nougat and lees derived richness add depth, while ageing in 1 yr old French oak brings gentle toast and texture without overshadowing the fruit. This Chardonnay is beautifully restrained, an elegant, introverted wine that rewards patience, revealing more nuance with every sip. A true expression of Lenswood, it speaks softly but leaves a lasting impression.

The Aspire Chardonnay is a stunning example of Lenswood at its most expressive, handpicked from the warmest, driest section at the top of the hill to capture maximum ripeness and intensity. It opens with delicate stone fruit and citrus aromas, layered with a hint of crunchy green apple for freshness. On the palate, it's all about elegance and complexity while 60% malolactic fermentation lends a soft, creamy texture that wraps around the vibrant fruit. 2025 Vintage Report - Adelaide Hills The 2025 vintagein Adelaide Hills presented ideal conditions for crafting elegant Chardonnay - a dry growing season concentrated flavors while the region's signature cool nights (especially at our350-400m elevation sites) preserved vibrant natural acidity. These conditions have yielded a wine of remarkable intensity and precision. The Vineyard We selected fruits from theBernard 76 and Bernard 95 clones, originally propagated from Burgundy's finest vineyards. These premium French selections are prized for their small berries and intense flavor concentration - the Bernard 95 contributing bright citrus and mineral notes, while the 76 clone adds texture and stone fruit complexity. When grown in our high-altitude vineyards, they produce wines with exceptional balance and aging potential. Tasting Notes Elegant and finely structured, this cool-climate Chardonnay delivers a crisp yet rounded mouthfeel. Flavors of nectarine, lemon curd, and juicy grapefruit are complemented by a subtle creaminess from well-integrated malolactic fermentation.
