If you thought that Argentina was the only place to find fine Malbec, think again! Zonte's Footstep have triumphed with this luscious Langhorne Creek example boastinga berryfest of flavour, FIVE Gold medals and 93 points from Halliday: "Violets, boysenberries, redcurrant and leather. Bright and characterful at once. Sweet and vibrant through the mouth, dry and firm through the finish. Mid-weight. In lovely form...93pts" (Halliday).

This Dolce displays aromas of fresh florals and strawberries which leads to a rich upfront palate of red berry fruits, balanced by silky smooth tannins.

Proudly, a wine style that hasn’t succumbed to the dictates of fashion or commerce. St Henri is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters as it ages. It is matured in old, 1,460 litre vats that allow the wine to develop, imparting minimal, if any oak character. Although a small proportion of Cabernet is sometimes used to improve structure, the focal point for St Henri remains Shiraz.

Forester Estate is owned by Vignerons Kevin and Jenny McKay. It’s situated in Yallingup, in the northern Margaret River region. Kevin’s motto is to build complexity and texture into his wines literally from the ground up! The superb wines are made by Todd Payne who has had “a distinguished career, starting in the Great Southern, then the Napa, Plantagenet, Esk Valley in Hawke’s Bay, and on to the Northern Rhône” (Halliday). This is a beautifully expressive wine. Inky, rich and herbal Cabernet melds with plummy, velvety, mouthfilling Merlot to create a really layered and complex wine you want to keep on sipping.

Immediately understood, immediately recognised. Grange is crafted utilising fully-ripe, intensely-flavoured and structured shiraz grapes. The result is a unique style that is recognised as one of the most consistent of the world’s great wines. The 2021 release is an aromatic quilt - grated dark chocolate, pan juices, soy and spice on the nose. Dark fruits, sleek tannins and chocolate oak is expansive across the palate. A wine that will comfortably cellar for three decades.

Penfolds landmark Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes selected for Bin 707 are intensely flavoured, with thick skins and small bunches. Like Grange, it is a blend of the best Cabernet fruit from the vintage. Full-bodied with proven cellaring potential.

The structure of Cabernet Sauvignon meets the richness of Shiraz. A benchmark Penfolds wine and one of the most collected wines in Australia. The 2024 Bin 389 combines Shiraz richness with Cabernet structure. Dark plum, blackcurrant and cassis lead to a medium-full palate of dark cherry, spiced oak and firm yet supple tannins. Built for cellaring.

This is a wine of intense blackberry fruit, dark chocolate and spice on the nose and palate. The fine tannins, acids and excellent fruit weight will ensure excellent mid term cellaring with the added bonus of no preservatives for those who are sensitive to sulphur.
