The Schilds are the oldest family- owned grape growers in the Barossa Valley, and they are custodians of vineyards home to some of the oldest vines in the world – up to 170 years old. 2014 Z Wine Section 3146 Barossa Valley Shiraz. Shiraz performed well with high baumes and low yields keeping us on or toes. Ripe fruit flavour and good weighted wines helped us shape a classic and popular Barossa style with loads of raspberry, licorice, black pepper and chocolate for complexity.

The nose shows a classic Barossa Shiraz style of blueberry, blackberry and red currant. There's spice there too, and hints of vanilla. The palate is soft and round with lovely intensity and layers of rich, dark, fruit. Fruit for this wine was sourced from 3 separate blocks from our 7 Ha vineyard located on the banks of Greenock creek. Planted in the mid 90s on their own roots, this 1654 clone 1654 Shiraz thrives on the red clay loam over limestone that makes this one of the great sub-regions of the Barossa. East/west row orientation provides perfect sun protection through the heat of the growing season and the south facing aspect creates bright fruit and an air of elegance. 10% was hand harvested and direct tipped into an open top fermenter for whole bunch fermentation. The remainder was harvested in the cool of the morning and delivered to the winery where it was destemmed into an open top fermenter. Time on skins ranged from ten thirty days before the wines were basket pressed, settled overnight and racked to seasoned French oak. The wine was blended in September then returned to oak for maturation for a total of twenty months. Partners in crime and explorers at heart, Andrew and Skye Quin are the team behind Quin wines. Having travelled the world together, they finally settled in the Barossa, with a trailer of second-hand furniture and heads full of dreams. Andrew has spent the last 10 years as Chief Winemaker for Hentley Farm, during which time he has collected a swathe of awards and accolades. But 2018 saw the launch of his own brand: Quin Wines. His philosophy is simple - respect tradition, but continue to push boundaries. And that bigger is not always better!

The Twin Oaks Barossa Reserve Shiraz is a selection of 2 outstanding vineyards providing aromas of dark berries and herbs with a hint of spice. The palate carries the themes and is full and delicious with mouth watering acidity keeping a lovely balance. "A magnificent rendition of the variety; the hugely complex bouquet shows dark fruit intensity with seductive notes of dark chocolate, dried flower, clove and cedar. Reserve Black Velvet Shiraz 2015 This is a perfect blend of red and white grape varieties developed in the Cotes du Rhone district in Southern France. It is made possible due to both varieties maturing at the same time. They are crushed and fermented together to merge the flavours of these two noble varieties. Usually 3-5% Viognier is ample to introduce the floral aromas and contribute to the wines softness in the mouth. This wine has retained the Shiraz characters of cherry and raspberry with Viognier adding the floral aromas and slipperiness in the mouth.

Dark red with purple hue, this intense Barossa valley Shiraz showcases the purity of fruit which is in perfect harmony with the sweet American oak. The palate is full and juicy with firm tannins, subtle coffee and bay leaf undertones that leads to a long finish. Drink this premium drop now or cellar it for up to 10 years.

Teusner Albert Shiraz is made from old vines in the northern Barossa; rich black fruits and tarry cassis with smoky undertones, the finish is long and luscious. Could easily be cellared for the medium term.
