Ripe old vine Shiraz from the heart of the Barossa contributes weight and texture Grenache adding cherry toffee earthy characters and solid savoury tannins. Will reward careful cellaring for a decade.

Mrs Wigley was not the wife of Wirra Wirra founder, Robert Strangways Wigley, but in fact a neighbouring cat that took up residence in the winery open top fermenters. The rosé show aromas of fresh strawberry and cherry and a crisp palate of light spice and a lingering dry finish.

Restrained and supple, lots of ripe dark plum, pepper and spice of Shiraz with the rose petal perfume lift and red cherry taste of Grenache. Lovely lightness and brightness to the back palate with a faint dried herbal and savoury edge, making it terrific immediate drinking but will cellar nicely for 5-10 years.

Colour: Pale salmon. Nose: Fine and elegant nose with aromas of red berries such as strawberry and raspberry. Palate: Well-structured, refreshing and bursting with summer fruit flavours. Food & Wine pairing: great for aperitif, but even better with a full diner, as fricassee of prawns, Asian style tuna tartare, grilled seabass with thyme and rosemary, or mixed platter to share.

An elegant and fresh nose of black cherry with hints of toasted hazelnut. On the palate, a beautiful fruitiness enhanced by a very pure structure that fills the mouth, despite light tannins. Carried by its freshness, this dominant of very ripe cherry stretches in length, then evolves on notes of roasted hazelnuts.
