Nature is a very curious and amazing thing and as vineyard owners in the Central Ranges wine district of New South Wales, we are constantly surprised how well our vines can perform in stressful conditions, with little to no rain. Miracle on the Wire refers to the tiny bunches of grapes that form on our vines each year, as well as to the sighting of the Blue Wren perched up on the wires of our Zeals Vineyard, as this is usually a sign of coming rain and good fortune.The extensive vineyard is Certified Organic, and adopts natural, sustainable, farming practices to ensure vigorous growth of the grapevines. This wine is mid-weighted, displaying layers of mixed red fruits and spicy notes. The tannins are gentle and interwoven with subtle French oak characters. A vibrant wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to 3-5 years.

The wine displays a strong bouquet of blackberry and earth, with a soft but pronounced tannin structure. The hand-picked fruit was fermented in small open fermenters, and hand plunged several times daily. 2014 was an excellent vintage, and the perfect opportunity to start a flagship red. Beautiful winter rain, set us up with excellent vineyard balance. We had a great vintage, with warm conditions allowing perfect ripening across all varieties. A soft but pronounced tannin structure. The exposure of the brand and quality of wines has rapidly increased, with Jacob Stein at the Helm. Jacob was awarded the Gourmet Traveller Young Winemaker of the Year award in 2012, further proof of his achievements in Mudgee. Robert Stein Winery has also been consecutively awarded a James Halliday 5 star winery in The Wine Companion since 2010.

Wine is a bright dense cherry red with a tinge of brick red. The bouquet exhibits lifted spicy ripe fruit and light earthy plummy Shiraz aromas, combined with soft vanillin oak characters. Full bodied, the length of the palate is filled with plummy spicy Shiraz flavours. Fruit characters are balanced by drying oak tannins which contribute both complexity and length to the wine. With a finish that is typical of cold climate Shiraz fruit crisp, clean and elegant.An ideal wine to accompany grilled red meats, curries, lamb, light game dishes or cheese.

Named after our daughter Primrose, and in honour of her, this wine was made using the best quality Shiraz grapes we could find, an unusual practice with Rosé wines! The result is an elegant, dry wine with a light pink hue, exhibiting delicate aromas of berry and rose petals. Delicious flavours of strawberry and watermelon with a clean, crisp finish.
