Bringing together the structure of northern Italian styles and the generous fruit of the south, the tiny D.O.C of Molice lies in the hills between Abruzzo and Campania. Crafted from organically grown grapes, its approachable, tangy and fresh. Full of winter spice, violets and fresh-picked red fruit with supple, round edges and fresh fleshy finish.

Made from the popular dark skinned local grape, primitivo, in the Salento region of Puglia, this wine impresses with deep, rich flavours of dark cherry, prunes and heady notes of rosemary, sweet spices and a vanilla undertone. A full-bodied, intense wine, soft and balanced, easy to drink.

A deeply colored yet attractively transparent ruby red; on the nose it is fragrant and fruity, with the typical scents of firm, juicy cherries and red fruits. It is fresh and well-balanced on the palate, which elegantly recalls the attractive fruity notes on the nose, offering a light, supple and persistent taste profile.

One of Australia's favourite Pauillac's and favourite Bordeaux's in general year after year. It isn't hard to see why Château Batailley is held is such high esteem with the consistent quality produced year after year. The 2009 marks a high water mark though with Batailley which has seen the wine be regarded with the very best this estate has ever produced. While trademark formidable tannin is still evident, the softness and roundness of the fruit is just a wonder to experience. Will still age for considerable time, most likely 20+ years.
