The semillon provides great freshness with its citrus acidity, while the chardonnay lends this wine a wonderful balance and fullness on the palate. Geoff Weaver has journeyed from the big end of town to a tiny, intimate pocket of the Adelaide Hills. From his role as chief winemaker for the Hardy group of companies, in 1992 he made the break from corporate winemaking to pursue his own dream on the Lenswood vineyard that he and wife Judith had started planting a decade earlier. Those vines, some of the oldest in the Hills, are really reaping the rewards of maturity. Tightly structured yet aromatically lifted wine but with a supple mid-palate and a fine, crisp finish. The nose is fresh and lively with a lifted aroma of lime blossom. The palate is fruity with a juicy zest and a fine mineral edge.

Vintage: The 2018 growing season started slowly, but warmer weather eventually helped to speed things up. Fruit set throughout the region was good and the low rainfall and warm weather from January to April resulted in great sugar development, while a cooler than average March offered ideal night temperatures for colour and flavour development. Geoff and fellow viticulturalist Ian Leask purchased the promising Pertaringa vineyard in McLaren Vale. A few years later, Geoff found the perfect location for producing cool climate grapes in the Adelaide Hills. He planted the vineyard in 1987 and named it K1 since this unique site was the first commercial planting of vines in the Kuitpo region in the southern Adelaide Hills. Nicolette Tranquillo is a still Prosecco (Glera) produced from a single vineyard in the Adelaide Hills Piccadilly Valley.
