It's hard for Tyrrell's to put a foot wrong with this grape and the Belford is no exception. A straw and lemon nose, more lemons and melon on a palate which seems to go on forever. A powerful lick of acid finishes it all off wonderfully.

Petaluma Riesling is one of Australia's finest examples of this noble variety. Pale straw in colour the palate exhibits lemon and grapefuit flavours matched by some fresh and racy acidity. Kath Quealy pioneered Pinot Grigio/Gris styles and is undoubtedly the 'queen of Gris'; classic honey, mushroom, hay and wood smoke characters; richly textured, it finishes long and strong.

Beginning with mineral grapefruit and flinty notes on the nose, this wine opens up superbly on the palate. Long, deep and subtle in flavour with crisp acid which completes a fine example of the style.

1998 was the fourth successive drought vintage in the Clare Valley. This Riesling has a fuller orange blossom flavour and aroma produced from a drought year.
