Sourced from a number of Yarra Valley vineyards, fermented in small batches with different treatments (carbonic maceration, partial whole-bunch and whole berry fermentations utilising optical sorting). 67% of the fruit comes from the valley floor and 33% from the Upper Yarra. The final blend equates to 15% whole bunches and 6% new oak, with the residual balance matured in French oak puncheons and barriques from 2nd to 4th fill. The wine saw four months on lees in barrel prior to bottling.

Established in 1995, Toolangi Vineyard is in the Yarra Valley adjoining the Toolangi State Forest. This single-site vineyard on fine clay loam produces wines with distinctive personalities, each wine showing a strong sense of place. The vines were cropped low, and the fruit was hand-harvested from 20-year-old vines of MV6 Pinot Noir clone. The fruit was destemmed as whole berries, with 5% left as whole bunches. There was a short cold soak prior to fermentation and the wine was then left on skins for 14 days. It was then pressed to French oak (5% new) for malolactic conversion and left on lees in oak for 10 months. “Light but satisfying. Delicious spice notes, sweet and roasted, with the tang of red cherry and cranberry flavours. It has both quality and complexity written all over it but, responsibly, it’s also the kind of pinot you just want to guzzle. It has that out-and-out drinkability. Nestled among endless rolling hills and surrounded by mountains, the Yarra Valley, birthplace of Victorian wine, is a cool-climate region blessed with diverse terroir and unique microclimates. This iconic landscape, traversed by the culturally significant Yarra River, showcases a tapestry of altitudes and soil conditions, resulting in an elegant array of distinct wine profiles influenced by its southernmost location and exposure to Southern Ocean weather patterns. A vibrant expression of Yarra Valleys sub-region, Dixons Creek. The nose presents an abundance of vibrant red cherries, raspberry and wild strawberries. On the palate, there’s red and blue fruits, wet stone and a savoury spice structure from considered new French oak. Aromatic, energetic and silky with wonderful length showcasing site and region.

Delicate colour. Aromas of lifted raspberry, redcurrant and cranberry fruit float across underlying earth and spice notes. The palate is fine and delicate but still well defined and structured. More cranberry and redcurrant characters are on show here too. There is some gentle oak influence adding tannin and complexity.

There is a delicate perfume of Kirsch and dried strawberry with underlying dried bouquet garni. This is a light to medium-bodied wine with a supple yet generously flavoured palate.

De Bortoli are one of Australia's true champions of Pinot Noir, and this delicious example from their La Bohème range is incredible value for money.Pale red in appearance. Cherry, spice, leaf litter and cedar aromas. Medium weight with a plush mix of red cherry and blood plum, lovely structure and silken tannin drive, and earthy umami notes of the persistent finish.

100% Barrel Aged and hand picked from old vines within the Yarra Valley. Pale brick red color and spicy fruit aroma that holds forest like notes of strawberries. Both tannins of subtle oak and fruit are a good follow through. A very satisfying Pinot.

Marlborough isn't only capable of producing Sauvignon Blanc, some fine examples of Pinot Noir are coming our too. None better than this excellent wine from Delta Vineyards. Extremely fragrant on the nose and packed with squeezed forest berries, oak, spice, and some herbal, thyme-like notes. The palate displays vibrant red fruit flavours balanced by silky, fine tannins.

Yering Station Yarra Pinot Noir is a classic Pinot Noir with red/black cherry complimented with brooding earthy undertones and subtle savoury spice on the nose. The palate hints of violets and lavender. Rich black cherry spice surrounded by vanillin oak. Lovely middle palate concentration supported by fine velvet like tannins.
