2023 was a cool vintage that produced exceptional wines across all varieties. Despite the delayed harvest caused by the cooler growing season, we were fortunate to have a mild summer with just a few hot days that allowed our fruit to mature gradually. Consequently, our wines boast complex and elegant flavours, fine tannins, and beautiful natural acidity.

No Chill ~ 18-20°C: When not chilled, this wine is spectacularly fragrant, thoughtful, calm, so alluring and expressive. Deeply perfumed, with violets and red fruits - sheer deliciousness.

Established in 1995, Toolangi Vineyard is in the Yarra Valley adjoining the Toolangi State Forest. This single-site vineyard on fine clay loam produces wines with distinctive personalities, each wine showing a strong sense of place. The vines were cropped low, and the fruit was hand-harvested from 20-year-old vines of MV6 Pinot Noir clone. The fruit was destemmed as whole berries, with 5% left as whole bunches. There was a short cold soak prior to fermentation and the wine was then left on skins for 14 days. It was then pressed to French oak (5% new) for malolactic conversion and left on lees in oak for 10 months. “Light but satisfying. Delicious spice notes, sweet and roasted, with the tang of red cherry and cranberry flavours. It has both quality and complexity written all over it but, responsibly, it’s also the kind of pinot you just want to guzzle. It has that out-and-out drinkability. 100% Barrel Aged and hand picked from old vines within the Yarra Valley. Pale brick red color and spicy fruit aroma that holds forest like notes of strawberries. Both tannins of subtle oak and fruit are a good follow through. A very satisfying Pinot.

Once again this producer provides us with a handy little number showing plenty of varietal and regional characteristics. Sticks Pinot Noir from Yarra Valley, features lovely red cherry flavours with playfull spices and charry oak influence. Lean with subtle tannins and medium finish.

Delicate colour. Aromas of lifted raspberry, redcurrant and cranberry fruit float across underlying earth and spice notes. The palate is fine and delicate but still well defined and structured. More cranberry and redcurrant characters are on show here too. There is some gentle oak influence adding tannin and complexity.

This cool climate Yarra Valley Pinot Noir has aromas of cherries and summer berries and hints of spice and oak. The palate is bright with red fruits and soft tannin.
