The 2018 Tapanappa Whalebone Vineyard Merlot-Cabernet Franc is a ripe complex wine, with intensity as well as strength and is a “true expression of the unique Whalebone Vineyard terroir”. Aromas are leafy and floral from the Cabernet Franc and rich plum pudding from the Merlot. The slight mint and fresh earth of the Whalebone terroir is melded with the cedar of the oak and the olive aroma of the tannin. The flavours reflect the aroma and the fruit is immediately sweet and ripe, graduating to a refined tannin and balanced acid finish.

Hidden Ridge Shiraz displays lifted red berry aromas with hints of cedar and mocha notes. These flavours surround the palate with a subtle chocolate mint flavour, toasty oak notes and firm tannins to a long finish.

A vibrant and generous wine from Coonawarra with ripe flavours of plum and lifted dark fruits such as cherries and blueberries blended harmoniously with spicy, woody notes and a hint of nuts. The colour is medium density and purple edged, the aroma is of cedar and spicy cassis Cabernet and the earthy terroir character of the Whalebone Vineyard. The Shiraz plays a role in filling out the middle palate. Showing great depth of flavour, the palate is host to notes of cherry, mulberry and hazelnut with an underlying cool, mineral line and fine oak tannin. Parker Estate is a wine that's very approachable in its youth but can also be cellared short to medium term.
