In 2004, similar vintage conditions to the iconic 1962 vintage, inspired Penfolds winemakers to recreate Max Schuberts iconic wine. Cabernet Sauvignon from Block 20, alongside Koonunga Hill and Kalimna Shiraz, were included in the 2004 Penfolds Bin 60A blend.

Our Two Blocks Shiraz was matured in a combination of new American & second use French oak for 24 months. This gives the wine structure, complexity and a lift of chocolate oak flavour. The finish is smooth and lingering. Cellar for another 5-10 years to see the wine soften and develop further complexity. Winemaker’S Note: 2017 was a great year for both freshness of fruit and balance of spice and elegant tannins. This Shiraz is a great example of our cool climate style, being approachable and elegant with just a touch of oak. Vintage Note: A cool growing season and above average rainfall lead to a mild growing season that presented some challenges towards the end of harvest. Fortunately the rain cleared enough for the Shiraz to ripen and be picked just in time. It was the stand out variety of the season with the balance of spice and ripeness returning to a more traditional style cool climate wine.

Established by Patrick Tocaciu in 1998, our Joanna vineyardis named after the old settlement of Joanna in Wrattonbully. We introduced Joanna to the Sngle Site range in 2018 after having discovered a batch in the winery that was to good to ignore. The south facing slope allows for a long ripening period and concentrated flavour. Expect rich mulberry, concentrated dark fruits, chocolate nuances and an elegance that only cool climate vines can boast. TASTING NOTE: The aroma of this wine is balanced between chocolate oak and raspberry fruit. The palate is medium weight with dark berry fruits and a concentrated fruitcake spice. It is powerful yet elegant and will complex and age well over the next 10 years. WINEMAKER’S NOTE: From the south-facing slope of our Wrattonbully vineyard. This allows for slower ripening and concentration of flavour. Matured for 28 months in new American and used French oak Hogsheads. The Block 5 sub-section of the Kidman vineyard sits at the northern end of the celebrated Coonawarra growing region. This part of the district ripens earlier than the south, making it very well suited to Shiraz. With its classic Terra Rossa over Limestone soils, the mature vines on this vineyard produce exceptional and highly sophisticated cool climate Shiraz, which is approachable in its youth but also eminently cellar-worthy.

Typical of Wynns Coonawarra Estate, this Shiraz has aromas of ground black pepper, berry and distinctive floral notes. A medium bodied wine with a lingering finish that will age gracefully. Wynns Coonawarra Estate is internationally celebrated for producing wines of consistent quality and depth of flavor and Coonawarra is considered one of Australia's best wine regions due to its regionally specific terra Rossa soil and gentle climate. Originally founded in 1891, Wynns Coonawarra Estate has grown to be the largest single vineyard holder in Coonawarra and is privileged to hold some of the best and oldest vines on Coonawarra’s famous terra Rossa soil.

One of the benchmark wines to come out of the Coonawarra, the Penfolds Bin 128 is a delightful cool-climate shiraz. Matured in French Oak, with flavours of white pepper and floral spice, the 2014 Bin 128 is a rich and full-bodied Shiraz.

Wynns Shiraz continues to be one of Australia's affordable favourites. Tucked away in the cellar of many budding wine collectors, Wynns Shiraz has all the structure and pedigree of some of its higher priced brothers and sisters. Rich varietal characters of plum, spice and pepper are woven through the minty regional notes and framed by fine, firm tannins.

Wynns 'Red Stripe' Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot continues to be a market leader and beacon for quality wine at an affordable price. Cabernet brings cassis and mint, while spice and plummy fruit is provided by the Shiraz and Merlot. Drink now or cellar for a year or two.

Pioneer of the Coonawarra region, John Riddoch, lends his name to the highway that dissects the famous 'terra rossa' dominated region which is home to some of Australia's premier red wine vineyards. The fruit for this evocative Shiraz is sourced from some of these vineyards and is aged in a combination of French and American oak for 18 months to develop increased complexity. Exuding plum and red fruit aromas with just a tiny hint of oak that supports the rich textured palate. Perfect for enjoying today or for careful medium term cellaring.
