Babo Chianti

Winemaker Justin Bubb splits his year between Tasmania (Pooley Wines) and Tuscany, where he makes a delicious collection of wines under the Babo label. There are a couple of firsts here; this is the first Chianti to be bottled under screwcap and it's one of the first to be bottled in a Burgundy bottle as opposed to the traditional Claret shape (for the Fiasco wicker bottle!) For this Chianti-Beaujolais hybrid, Justin has employed whole berry fermentation with roughly 30% carbonic maceration, simply fermented and then raised in concrete vats for six months. It's a wonderfully bright and aromatic Sangiovese with notes of raspberry and red cherry, good texture and lightweight tannins, with sappy acidity and a thirst quenching finish.

Maretti Chianti

A beautifully styled and expressed Chianti, with a complex bouquet showing cherry, baking spice and almond meal, rounded out with gamy nuances. Perfectly balanced on the palate, it has fine tannins and a long, dry finish. Perfect with pastas, grilled chicken and mild cheeses.

Domaine Tournon Shay's Flat Vineyard Sangiovese

Capanna Rosso del Cerro

Babo Nero d'Avola

The Ethereal One Fleurieu Sangiovese

The Ethereal One celebrates wines with ethereal qualities - so delicious and graceful in style they seem not to be of this world. This remarkable Fleurieu Sangiovese explodes with aromas of strawberries and raspberries and hints of earthy, forest floor and anise. Red fruits dominate the flavours with layers of complex savoury herbs, and structured chalky tannins create a refreshing finish.

Notte Rossa Primitivo Salento

Made from the popular dark skinned local grape, primitivo, in the Salento region of Puglia, this wine impresses with deep, rich flavours of dark cherry, prunes and heady notes of rosemary, sweet spices and a vanilla undertone. A full-bodied, intense wine, soft and balanced, easy to drink.

d'Arenberg The Stranded Starfish Rose

Since 1912 the Osborn family have tended vineyards in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Today, fourth generation family member Chester makes distinctive wines using traditional and sustainable methods in the vineyard and winery. Small batches of grapes undergo 10 days of carbonic maceration, then are gently crushed and immediately drained to finish fermentation in stainless steel. Stranded starfish have no place to hide. It'll be those that gave their island to survive; drink up, dreamers, you're running dry.

Belcolle Langhe Nebbiolo

Grown in the Langhe region of Piedmont, this Nebbiolo will age for the short to medium term however it is also made to drink beautifully when young. Coming from what most regard as the spiritual home of the Nebbiolo grape the wine shows the typical structure and freshness of this variety when grown with care and attention to detail. It has a brilliant red color, the fragrance is characteristic, intense, delicate, with violet and raspberry scents. The wine is dry, velvety and harmonic in the mout
