The wine displays Coonawarra characters through and through. Plum and black currants are beautifully complemented by elegant spice and cedar with wonderful soft and abundant natural tannin. The wine is full and rich with Coonawarra elegance and suppleness and ripe, spicy fruit.

Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is the beacon of quality that all Australian Cabernet Sauvignon is compared to. Coming off the iconic red soils of Coonawarra, Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is classic elegance. Chief winemaker, Sue Hodder, is able to craft a wine brimming with aromas of blackcurrant and plum that combine with spicy minty notes. The palate is well structured, long and fine. With the right cellaring condition, this could easily be a cellar gem.

Fruit for the Flagship 171 is sourced from the number one block of Cabernet Sauvignon, which was planted in 1971 on the famous Terra Rossa soils adjacent to Coonawarra Township. Lovely to drink now but with careful cellaring this wine will continue to improve over the next 20 years. A truly iconic Coonawarra cabernet. The 2015 vintage was released from the Dan's cellaring programme in 2023 after spending 7 years at rest.

Katnook Odyssey is one of the superstars of the Coonawarra galaxy, produced only from the finest fruit and in the top years. The best oak is lavished on Odyssey, and is absorbed by the rich, dense fruit with ease. 5 years+ in our programme and the oak integration is complete, the tannins softened and the texture silken. A special occassion wine at the best of times, the 2013 vintage is still improving and should retain its best attributes for another ten years.

Each vintage Wynns select a premium parcel from a single vineyard to bottle separately. This year the selection is from the Glengyle vineyard, creating a true wine of stature. The flavours a beautifully fresh, echoing crunchy red berries and intriguing gentle florals. This wine is finely polished and focused in structure, with great persistence and intensity giving the impression of a wine that is layered, flowing and building all at once. A true wine of stature and iconic status.

'Black Label' Cabernet Sauvignon, which was first vintaged in 1954, has evolved markedly over the decades. It is arguably Australia's most recognised Cabernet Sauvignon, and has more than any other, helped define Coonawarra. The wine is matured in new and seasoned French oak for 12 to 18 months. A classic Coonawarra Cabernet with pristine dark berry/ cassis aromas, fine grained tannins and underlying savoury nuances, it develops into a rich, chocolaty wine with age. In a super vintage, this wine can look astonishingly like a 2nd or 3rd growth Bordeaux with its pure cassis aromas and cedary complexity. This intense, gorgeously scented, rich and voluminous Cabernet blend is typified by mocha, espresso, blackcurrant, truffle aromas, savoury new oak and fine-grained tannins. The Cabernet Sauvignon dominant Terra Rossa First Growth, with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc is made along traditional Bordelais lines with extended maceration and maturation in a combination of tightly-grained new and used French oak for 20 to 24 months.
