The Dirtman Shiraz by Gibson Wines is named after Rob Gibson, owner and winemaker. With love of viticulture and the soil, Rob has always been referred to as The Dirtman. This attractive Shiraz has wonderful rich, dark cherry notes with plums and a touch of apricot thrown in. The texture on the palate is vibrant with a length that is simply perfect.

Macaw Creek Reserve Shiraz Cabernet is a complex blend of Shiraz and Cabernet grapes, resulting in a dark red hued wine. The attractive and vibrant bouquet gives way to a rich and fresh palate brimming with flavours of choc mint and ripe blackberry fruit coupled with vanillin and mocha oak notes. The fine and firm tannins fuse with these intense flavours to end in a delicate and persistent finish. Drink this full-bodied Shiraz Cabernet blend with barbequed rib eye or tomahawk steak to discover its full flavour potential.

Medium depth crimson with purple hues. Ripe red fruits and black cherry on the nose with mocha, subtle savoury and herbal notes adding complexity. The bright and juicy fruits coat the palate and are balanced by pepper and sweet spices. Medium-bodied in structure with great complexity and lovely silky tannins which flow through the fruity, peppery and spicy finish. Despite a later than anticipated start and an earlier than usual finish, the 2018 compressed harvest produced wines of deep colour, flavour and balance across the board. 35% Grenache, 34% Shiraz, 31% Mourvedre. Matured for 12 months in seasoned oak. The site where the Langmeil winery now sits was originally settled by Blacksmith Christian Auricht way back in 1842. Christian went on to establish a bakery, smithy, a butcher's shop and a cobbler as well as planting a 1 hectare vineyard on the estate. This vineyard, still in use today, has been called the Freedom 1843 block and is believed to be one of the oldest Shiraz vineyards in the world. Flash forward 160+ years and the Langmeil winery and vineyard is back in family hands, with Carl Lindner, Richard Lindner and Chris Bitter now owning this historic Barossan estate. Like many Barossan estates with a bent for traditional full bodied reds, Langmeil prefers open fermenters and basket presses, utilising these fabulously archaic methods for over half its grape intake of approximately 1000 tonnes. In a similar vein, the wines are only minimally handled and minimally filtered before bottling in an attempt to preserve natural flavour and complexity.

This is accented with perfumed cedary notes derived from the oak our wine is matured in. The result; a wine with elegance and poise. The fruit for Blackberry Patch comes from one block in the heart of the Langhorne Creek and another in the Blewitt Springs sub-region of the McLaren Vale. Primary fermentation takes place in a combination of stainless steel vats and 5 tonne open fermenters after which the wine is assembled into tank and allowed to complete a natural malo-lactic fermentation before being pressed off. It is then transferred to new & well-seasoned hogsheads and aged for up to12 months prior to bottling with minimal filtration. This results in a wine with purity of fruit that is regal and eminently satisfying to allow for regular indulgence. Zontes Footstep is a proudly independent Australian wine producer established in 2003. Their grapes are sourced from their own, as well as their neighbours' vineyards, from regions that produce the desired expressive, varietal characteristics of the grapes grounded by the soil they are planted in. Located in the McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, Adelaide Hills, the Barossa and further afield. The name comes from a mixture of things. In 1893 a vineyard was planted with Zante currant to produce table grapes for the growing population of Adelaide. In the 1920s the vineyard was replanted with wine producing varieties of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon which were eventually used to make the first Zonte's wine. As a tribute to the journey of the grapes in the vineyard (and because you arent legally allowed to mention a grape variety unless its contained in the wine) it was decided to change the A to an O ZONTES sufficiently similar. Then in1999, the vineyard was purchased and a plan to plant Viognier, Sangiovese and other new and exciting grape varieties was undertaken. Whilst replanting the vineyard some large boulders with footprints were discovered from the largest known marsupial to have ever lived, the Diprotodon. It was this unique fossilised FOOTSTEP that cemented the name and the journey of Zonte's Footstep was begun. Their aim is the diligent pursuit of producing wines that reflect a sense of place, style and purpose.
