This is a concentrated Sauvignon Blanc in a typical Central Otago style. The wine displays wild gooseberry flavours intermingled with freshly cut hay and lemon notes; this moves into a full mid-palate and then the wine finishes with lingering passionfruit and rhubarb. This wine is ideal for fun-loving, responsible summer drinking.

A hot dry vintage produced Cabernet grapes that were too ripe and concentrated to make table wine. The wine was fortified on skins to extract maximum colour and flavour. The wines colour is a deep brick red with fresh purple tints. It has a rich fruity Cabernet bouquet with mature grape flavours, complexed with very old fine brandy spirit used in the fortification. A true vintage port style, it is a wine of high viscosity, luscious, rich, and full flavoured, and perfectly balanced by a slightly dry tannin finish. The great length of complex flavours highlight the integration of fruit character and brandy spirit esters and oils.

A touch more residual sugar than normal in this vintage, to ensure it stays within the half-dry category. Once again showing those great lemon/lime citrus characters, with a nice pop of fruit which is balanced out nicely by the crisp, clean acidity. This Single Vineyard Half Dry Riesling was handpicked in the early morning from the bottom half of our Riesling block and whole bunch pressed. Fermentation was cool and slow, with the ferment being stopped at 15 grams residual sugar. The wine was left in tank on lees for a further 4 months, stirring occasionally for further palate texture. A relatively new name but Dog Point's owners have years of experience in Marlborough and this label is much sought after. This release is beautifully textured rich and delicious.
