The grapes for this wine was grown in the Angove Familys certified organic Nanya vineyard in Paringa, perched high on the cliffs overlooking the mighty River Murray. 15+ year old vines growing in deep, light sandy loam over a bed of limestone on gently undulating east-west ridges. Pale salmon pink with fresh cherry, watermelon and blueberry aromas that lead to cherry, red berry flavours and a clean finish.

A tried and true expression of ripe and generously flavoured shiraz that lets the fruit do the talking rather than excessive oak or alcohol. Traditionally a blend of Barossa and Eden Valley estate grown fruit, there's so much to like here ; delicately scented spice, earth and licorice complexities intertwine with layers of supple, mouth filling blue and black fruits. Savoury, long and fine, quality French oak imparts gentle cedar notes to complete the picture. 'A blend of Barossa and Eden Valleys. Almost blood red, this is a Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz in motion, changing and shifting from red scents of currants and cranberries to the black fruits of plum compote and black cherries, before a touch of cedar, leafy herbs and powdery black spices freshen the finish. The wine has a coolness that belies its power. The expression is as restrained as it is muscular. Richly layered, the fruit completes the structure. Underneath theres an umami earthiness, like scents of camping in the woods. Impeccably balanced. Savour with a rosemary pepper beef rib roast with porcini jus.

Taken from the pristine terra rossa over limestone soils in Wrattonbully, this Cabernet Malbec blend shows the trademark bright fruit and deep flavours associated with the region. The cool air flow and long sunshine hours in this area provides extended ripening and hence complexity. It's bright and fresh aromas are matched by a rich interior which shows wonderful fruit expression. Unlike the average son, Favourite Son will repay over the years showing great potential for cellaring.

A fruit driven mid palate is laden with red cherry, plums and raspberries. The wine has a long, crisp and refreshing finish due to the Cabernets firm and youthful grape tannin framed with elegant and spicy oak. A great drinking wine of complexity and substance.

Jacob's Creek Double Barrel Shiraz Cabernet is a finely balanced mixture of ripe dark fruits and fine texture. The Limestone Coast offers fruit of intensity with ripe dark berry flavours and outstanding freshness. Finishing in Scotch Whisky barrels has softened the tannin profile whilst adding a slight cherry, crème brûlée edge, due to the heavy toast to the barrels.

The extensive finish is framed by elegant, fine-grained tannins from maturation in a combination of new and seasoned American and French oak barrels.
