Angas King selected small volume of premium fruit for this limited old vine Barossa Shiraz, producing our first reserve selection shiraz for Angas King range. Deep violet and garnet with aromas of spice and black berries,cloves and walnuts. A firm full bodied shiraz with the fullness of flavor of ripefruits. intergrated french oak maturation of 24 months finsihed with balance & harmony with long lasting length.

Brothers at War Single Vineyard Barossa Valley Shiraz This old vine Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard in the Lyndoch Ranges, in the south-west of the Barossa Valley. The fruit is fermented 20% whole bunch with the balance destemmed but not crushed. The wine is then hand plunged twice daily for three weeks before being pressed to French oak (50% new) hogsheads and aged on lees for 18 months before bottling without fining or filtration.

A complex bouquet with aromas ranging from cracked black pepper to mulberry, cranberry and lemon curd. There is a delightful elegance and complexity to the palate, showing layers of pomegranate, cranberry and raspberry tart upfront, with hints of red fruits. Beautiful firm tannins and graceful, lengthy finish.

Why do they make this style of thick, opulent wine in the Barossa? Because they can, and when done well, with all parts in harmony, intense engagement follows. The colour of an ominous thunder cloud, deep, rich aromas - so far, time in our cellar has seen hardly any change since release - perhaps, extra smoothness. This denotes a long and glorious future, although, those preferring a more youthful fruit profile will relish it's intense, smooth sumptuousness.. A Barossa classic to wow your friends.
