Delamotte was found in 1760 and is one of the five oldest Champagne houses. Based in the Grand Cru Village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Cote des Blancs, the house is reknowned for the delicacy and elegance of their cuvees. A blend of 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and 5% Pinot Meunier, with each grape variety providing structure, fruit richness, and aromatic complexity respectively. 36 months maturation provides an extra dimension of complexity while still retaining the house's trademark clean, fruity elegance. Opens up with lovely, pure-fruited aromas of citrus, white flowers and lemon peel. Very creamy on the palate with a fresh and delicate mousse. The Vazart-Coquart family has been involved in the wine business for centuries. In 1953, Louis Vazart and his son Jacques launched the family Champagne brand. Jean-Pierre Vazart, Jacques’ son, is now in charge of the estate. The Vazarts grow 95% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Noir on their 26.4 acres (10.7ha) in Chouilly. Average vine age is 30 years. They produce what is considered to be one of the best Blanc de Blancs in Champagne.
