Recognised as one of the first vineyards in the Hunter Valley, Audrey Wilksonson has a long and storied history in the region. Majority French oak is used to mature a wine that has flavours of intense cherries and violets overlapping powerful mulberry and that traditional Hunter character of forest floor and earth.

A delicious Hunter Shiraz from a stunning vintage. Peter and his team have really been kicking goals over the last few years. In the glass: Fresh deep red. On the nose: Deluxe oak spice over vanilla, bergamot, red cherry and white pepper. On the palate: Flavour-packed with red and black fruits, lifted black pepper and herb spice, refined and satiny oak before a long finish.

2022 was a cracking year for Verdelho in the Hunter Valley, so the fact that Boydells have made this sparkling says a lot about how high they regard this wine. A party pleaser!Pale and bright. Clean aromas of citrus, pineapple and stonefruit. Refreshing lemon and lime fruit entry with underlying peach and tropical fruit, silken texture, creamy mousse and a touch of sweetness balanced by mouth-watering acidity.

Sparkling shiraz is as Australian as anything, and one of the best value is from Seppelt, with the current vintage drinking superbly. Surprisingly soft and plump with ripe and giving tannins; while it's dry, there's some sweet fruit sensation on the palate that helps with dishes that have heat spikes and spice, especially Indian. Lots of plum fruit, spice and earthy notes, too, with fine acid and the fizz hit offers a refreshing lift.

De Iuliis Hunter Valley Verdelho is full of rich tropical fruit characters, including pineapple, passionfruit and rockmelon. A vibrant acid backbone complement the fruit nicely to produce an undervalued food-style wine.

De Iuiis Hunter Valley Semillon has lifted tropical fruits and citrus characters that dominate the aroma, while excellent natural acidity adds balance and length of flavour.

Subtle aromas of vanillin oak and melon, with a hint of green pear. Oak and fruit are well balanced. A rich fruit palate combines with a creamy texture from the French Oak treatment. The aftertaste is clean, with lingering peach flavours. Drinks well now, but will continue to improve with 3-4 years further cellaring.
