Grape variety - 100% Shiraz. Oak maturation - Portions of old and new French oak for 15 months. Colour - Medium-deep red with purple hue. Aroma - The wine opens with lifted spice and pepper with a dusty floral fragrance. There are ripe fruit characters of plum and mulberry with savoury oak. Established in 1970, Cape Mentelle is one of the founding wineries of the Margaret River region. Parcels of hand selected fruit from our unique vineyard sites are proudly showcased in our Winemaker’s Release. A classic expression of Margaret River Shiraz, this wine offers dark berry and rich plum flavours with nuances of olives and tobacco leaves. Balanced, fine tannins lead to a long and persistent finish.

This is a 60-40 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine is elegant and refined showing a clear red-purple colour; a fresh, bright and breezy wine, with red fruits to the fore and balanced tannins to hold the structure together.

Machine harvested at night , crushed and de-stemmed, pressed to French oak (25% new and the balance in staves) for 12 months. This is classic cooler climate Shiraz with beautiful perfumes on the nose and lovely fleshy fruit flavours on the palate, the tannins are soft and generous combining to give the wine a well structured finish.

Fruity and rich with a velvety mouthfeel and lingering finish.

This Forester Estate Shiraz has concentrated and lifted aroma of plum, white chocolate, spices, sandalwood like oak with some hints of violets; elegantly structured with a soft and rounded tannins on the palate. A very approachable style to enjoy with friends and family.

A lovely example of Margaret River Cabernet Merlot, Flametree Cabernet Merlot is showing big dense fruit characters of blackcurrant and stewed plums. A silky seamless palate with rich fruit concentration and chocolaty complexity. Matured in French oak barrels has softened and rounded this wine.

Vasse Felix produces fine Margaret River reds with great balance and style. This traditional blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon shows sweet mid-palate fruit with liquorice and spice and good tannin structure. Fantastic French oak integration enabling soft tannin complexity and a lovely length of flavour.

A rich, lush wine of abundant fruits - red currants, mulberries, plums, blackberries, blueberries and cassis, this ambling fruit richness is complimented by plentiful ripe fruit tannins and the finest grained French oak.

Devil's Lair The Hidden Cave is a concept from a Margaret River icon that showcases the daring with a twist of exoticism. The Cabernet Shiraz delivers aromas mocha, coffee and cassis with a hint of star anise. Tobacco leaf is also present which gives way to a rich and voluptuous palate of blackberries and dark chocolate. A truly engaging blend.
