A relatively new addition to the Wynns stable to compliment the Coonawarra Cabernet Shiraz Merlot and the Coonawarra Shiraz, The Siding Cabernet Sauvignon brings lovely varietal and regional character in a Cabernet that is approachable on release, but also benefits from a few years in the medium term cellar. According to chief winemaker, Sue Hodder, The Siding Cabernet Sauvignon aims to deliver a leading affordable Cabernet that showcases exceptional varietal and region characteristics of red cherry, mint and dark berry flavours, while an array of gentle tannins will further reward from short to medium term cellaring.

Coonawarra might be known for age-worthy reds like cabernet sauvignon, but it is criminally overlooked when it comes to its whites. Why do we say that? Because with all that even growing temperature and well-documented terroir, whites such as sauvignon blanc show not only typicity, but vibrant acidity, and a restrained, sophisticated edge. Leaning on the edge of tropical with green pineapple, green apple, feijoa and lime pith- this is as fresh and unique as they come.

Full bodied displaying raspberry and plum. Complex, with good depth of flavour.

This wine is made in the traditional Bordeaux style. The Cabernet grapes are a perfect match to the Merlot, filling all the gaps that the other misses, resulting in an outstanding wine that ticks all the boxes great nose, great legs and great palate.

The complex palate reveals itself with style. Traditionally assertive Coonawarra tannins are evident at first, before giving way to a mid palate filled with ripe cassis, olive tapenade and complex briary hints. Fine, dusty tannins give excellent line and length, and are layered with sweet and toasty characters reminiscent of crýme brýlýe. Our unique Double Barrel technique of finishing in aged Irish whiskey barrels has integrated the myriad of flavours and brought extra richness to the palate.

Pale crimson with glimmers of garnet. Aromas of red and blue berries mingle with violet notes and gentle spice. The palate is fresh and balanced, with supple tannins, a touch of earthy minerality, and a clean, lingering finish that reflects its Coonawarra origins.

Elgin's crossing commemorates pioneering vigneron John Riddoch's outward voyage to Australia aboard the sailing ship lady Elgin in 1851. Riddoch went on to become an influential figure in South Australia, establishing the Coonawarra fruit colony in 1890.

Hidden Ridge Shiraz displays lifted red berry aromas with hints of cedar and mocha notes. These flavours surround the palate with a subtle chocolate mint flavour, toasty oak notes and firm tannins to a long finish.

The Coonawarra region is a flat terrain, located on the Limestone coast in South Australia. Beneath this beautiful landscape lies a limestone ridge and contrasting soils which provide the perfect conditions for crafting great wine. On the nose, lifted raspberry, spice with subtle oak that leads to a generous mouth full of dark berry flavours. Long gentle, puckery tannins provides a long finish. Cabernet’s dark and brooding deeply delved impenetrable black purple.Classic cabernet again: blackberries and cassis, a distant waft of tomato foliage and of green tobacco leaf; duxelle mushrooms and a sawdusted butcher’s shop floor. A seamless olfactory journey from primary fruit aromatics to secondary and subtle oak underlay. The complete package. Ripe blackberry fruits held in assured check by a neat acid tension. The berry flavours still sweep through the palate, but as quickly as they do the innate tannins of cabernet dry every aspect of your mouth out, and that returning acidity makes everything then taste as fresh and new as the first day of Spring. Definitive cabernet sauvignon flavours and structure, but all too approachable. And that approachability makes this red wine too moreish. The tannins want foods with fat and or a pleasant oiliness. Lamb chops cooked over charcoal. A slowly roasted shoulder of lamb. Kebab and falafel. We would. Oh, and this bottle requires four like or even dis like minded people with four appetites and four correct attitudes towards luncheon.
