Black Hound Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Made with a blend of only the finest single malts from the Highlands, this whisky is approachable and accessible – fruity and framed by a great balance of spice and vanilla and finishes with a subtle smoky aroma. The illicit whisky trade was risky business indeed. Feared throughout the Highlands was exciseman Malcolm Gillespie and his vicious black dog. Gillespie confiscated the best batches of whisky from smuggles across the Scottish Highlands, blending them into his very own highly convert malt 'Blackhound'. Beware of the Blackhound at your local First Choice Liquor Market store. Awards: • Gold

Bells Scotch Blended Scotch Whisky

The principal expression available globally is Bell's Original, which comprises up to 40 different malt and grain whiskies. The ‘'heart malt' of Bell's is Blair Athol, while the Speyside malt of Dufftown and the Lowlander Glenkinchie help to shape the blend's character, along with a quantity of Caol Ila from Islay, which adds a touch of island influence. Overall, Bell’s Original may be summed up as offering soft grains and spices on the floral and fruity nose, with a sweet, nutty, malty and spicy palate, which yields just a hint of peatiness.

Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky

After 12 years, this signature single malt by Glenfiddich - the pioneer of the prestigious single malt category - offers a distinctive fresh and fruity nose with a hint of pear followed by a palate of butterscotch, cream, malt and a subtle oak thanks to its long maturation in Oloroso sherry and bourbon oak casks.

Drambuie The Isle Of Skye Liqueur

Drambuie The Isle Of Skye Liqueur is a blend of aged Scotch whisky, herbs, spices & heather honey. Its origins can be traced to a secret recipe created by the Royal Apothecary in the 18th Century. The nose has aromas of aged malt whisky blended with a mix of herbal and floral overtones and rich honey. The flavour provides a kaleidoscopic taste sensation, a complex arrangement of herbal, spicy, sweet and honey notes. It is voluptuous, mellifluous and full bodied.

White Oak Akashi Blended Japanese Whisky

White Oak Akashi Blended Japanese Whisky is aged on average for 3 years and 8 months. It is a blend of 35% Malt & Grain Whisky made from wheat & barley. This is whisky blended in the scotch tradition, with Japanese precision, the malt is lightly peated, and vatting is mostly ex-bourbon, balanced by White Oak’s unique variety of barrels. Non-chillfiltered. This whisky has a malty, citrusy aroma with scents of black cherry, toffee and oak. Notes of vanilla and pine nuts dominate the palate, and lead to a long, malty finish. The White Oak distillery is perhaps the least known of Japan’s whisky producers, but it has a legitimate claim to be the country’s oldest with a license to make whisky granted in 1919 — four years before Yamazaki was built. It's located in the city of Akashi in Hyogo Prefecture, west of Kobe, facing the Seto Inland Sea. The distillery was founded by Eigashima Shuzo in 1888 to produce sake. Eigashima Shuzo obtained a license to manufacture whisky in 1919, but it was when the company moved to their current facilities in 1984 that White Oak Distillery was born. White Oak’s whisky stills are only in operation for one month every year and so their production is very small. Most of it's blended whisky, but when the single malts do come on the market the whisky is named ‘Akashi’ after its hometown. The first Akashi release was in 2007.
