Pommery Brut Royal Non-Vintage

Established in 1836, Madame Pommery is credited with creating the first vintage brut style of Champagne in 1874, at a time when most champagnes were excessively sweetened with sugar. This revolutionary dry style set the benchmark for the rest of Champagne and it is in this spirit that the style of Pommery endures; with each cuvée displaying sublime elegance, finesse and freshness. Pommery is one of the few Champagne Houses that produces their large formats in the actual bottle in order to allow for optimal ageing.

Louis Roederer Collection 244 Non-Vintage

Louis Roederer is a highly respected Champagne producer located in the historic city of Reims. The renowned Champagne house, founded in the late 1700s, is still owned and operated by the Roederer family. Their signature style consists of an equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a touch of Pinot Meunier, which comprises approximately one-fifth of the blend. Louis Roederer's most famous wine is Cristal, a prestigious Champagne that has captured the hearts of wine enthusiasts worldwide. The house was founded in 1833 and aimed to capture foreign markets, particularly Russia. Roederer became the wine of choice for the Russian royal family, and Cristal was created for Tsar Alexander II. Louis Roederer acquired grand cru vineyards in Champagne in 1845, which was unusual for the time as most houses were buying grapes from growers. Today, the Roederer vineyards encompass around 240 hectares of land, with around 25% managed biodynamically. This commitment to sustainable farming practices is a testament to the house's dedication to producing high-quality wines that are both delicious and environmentally responsible. Collection 244 NV is based from the 2019 vintage. It was a year of record-breaking temperatures brought by particularly intense heat waves. Dry and continental and of magnificent maturity, this year gave us wines that were dense and fresh, with a masterful balance, conducive to bringing out the powerful and luscious Collection character in the blend. This 244th Blend includes: - Perpetual Reserve - 36% (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016,2017,2018) - Reserve Wines Aged in Oak - 10% (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016,2017,2018) - 2019 Vintage - 54% The Louis Roederer Collection 244 NV is a remarkable champagne that captivates the senses from the moment it is poured. Its bright, golden hue with shimmering highlights is visually enticing, while the fine, lively mousse creates a delightful effervescence. The bouquet is both open and rich, exuding a wonderful freshness. It offers an explosion of ripe delicate fruit with intense notes of yellow fruit such as mirabelle plum from the Pinot Noir, complemented by the sweetness of citrus fruits like lemon meringue pie and delicate hints of white flowers specifically jasmine from the Chardonnay. As the wine opens up autolytic characters emerge evolving towards smoky roasted notes and the enticing aroma of freshly baked pastries. On the palate, the Louis Roederer Collection 244 NV reveals its depth and density, supported by a well-structured backbone. The texture is simply mesmerizing with a fleshy mouthfeel that coats the palate courtesy of the Pinot Noir. This then gives way to an incredible saline freshness accompanied by a pleasant hint of bitterness. The wine beautifully combines the strength, intensity and power of the delectably ripe Pinot Noir grapes, which are perfectly balanced by the chalky freshness and density from the majority Chardonnay blend. It is a harmonious symphony of flavors and textures that lingers on the palate, leaving a lasting impression.

Product Description: The La Closerie Grand Cru LC22 NV from Jérôme & Agnès Prévost is an extraordinary, limited-edition Champagne that exemplifies the pinnacle of craftsmanship and terroir. A rare and highly sought-after cuvée, La Closerie Grand Cru is an exciting addition to the Prévost portfolio. First introduced in 2019, this cuvée has evolved significantly, particularly with the 2021 vintage, where it included fruit from the family’s own Grand Cru plots in Le Mesnil. The vines in these ancient plots, planted in the 1960s, thrive on Lutetian limestone, offering a distinct mineral profile that is reflected in the wine’s complexity and depth. The blend is a delicate harmony of Chardonnay from Le Mesnil and Pinot Noir from Puisieulx, meticulously farmed to ensure full ripeness and the highest quality. The vineyards, tended to with exceptional care, are cultivated with a commitment to low yields and optimal balance, a testament to Prévost’s dedication to excellence in every vintage. The result is a Champagne that is both hedonistic and precise—creamy, rich, and opulent, with layers of stone fruit, roasted nuts, and citrus oil, wrapped in a silky, mineral-driven structure that defines its long, seductive finish. A rare and compelling release, this Champagne offers the ultimate indulgence for connoisseurs and collectors alike. Maker | Jerome Prévost: Jérôme Prévost is a winemaker whose artistry and philosophy revolve around purity, patience, and a deep connection to his terroir. Based in the picturesque village of Gueux, on the edge of the Montagne de Reims, Prévost is a micro grower-producer known for his commitment to crafting exceptional wines from his two-hectare plot of 40-year-old Meunier vines. His journey into winemaking began in 1998 when his close friend, Anselme Selosse, encouraged him to start making wine, offering him the use of his winery until 2003. Since then, Prévost has continued to refine his winemaking techniques, initially producing his wines in the garage behind his home. Prévost’s philosophy is rooted in minimal intervention and a profound respect for the natural expression of the land. His wines are a reflection of his belief that the terroir should shine through in every bottle, with no excess manipulation. He focuses on producing a single wine each year from his estate and the Meunier grape variety, allowing the wines to evolve and develop their complexity over time. His approach to winemaking has earned him a cult following, and his wines are revered for their complexity, energy, and longevity. By limiting his production and focusing on the intrinsic character of his vineyards, Prévost offers a rare and authentic expression of Champagne, capturing the essence of his unique terroir. Vineyard | Jerome Prevost La Closerie: The La Closerie vineyard, located in Gueux, is the heart of Jérôme Prévost’s winemaking. This vineyard is planted with old, low-yielding Meunier vines, grown on clay and chalk-rich soils that give the wines their characteristic minerality and texture. Initially, Prévost focused solely on his estate fruit, but after the frost damage in 2017, he expanded his sources, purchasing fruit from neighboring plots in Gueux. Despite this, the terroir remains consistent, with all the vineyards being farmed organically and following Prévost’s strict winemaking philosophy. The soil composition, along with the pre-industrial planting techniques, ensures that the vines have deep root systems that produce concentrated, flavourful fruit. Prévost’s careful vineyard management practices include organic farming methods and a focus on sustainability, allowing the vineyards to thrive and evolve naturally. The La Closerie vineyard embodies the essence of Prévost’s winemaking philosophy, where the balance between nature and craftsmanship results in wines with exceptional character and complexity. Tasting Notes: Nose Complex & Inviting A beautiful complexity, with aromas of creamy stone fruit such as ripe peaches and apricots, entwined with roasted nuts, citrus oil, and delicate hints of toasted brioche. Subtle minerality hints at the ancient Lutetian limestone soils, adding depth and sophistication. Palate Opulent & Silky Rrich and full-bodied, layering flavours of stone fruit, roasted hazelnuts, and a touch of citrus zest. Balanced, elegant, and incredibly smooth, with a vibrant acidity that lifts the richness and carries the flavours seamlessly. Finish Mineral & Long Long, delicate, and mineral-driven, with a soft but persistent citrus and nutty aftertaste that lingers. The combination of ripe fruit, creamy texture, and mineral backbone leaves a lasting impression of refinement and balance.
