St Henri is a time-honoured and alternative expression of shiraz, and an intriguing counterpoint to Grange. Released for the first time by Penfolds in the early 1950s (first commercial vintage 1957), it gained a new lease of life in the 1990s as its quality and distinctive style became better understood. Proudly, a wine style that hasn't succumbed to the dictates of fashion or commerce. St Henri is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters as it ages. It is matured in old, 1,460 litre vats that allow the wine to develop, imparting minimal, if any oak character.

This sherry cask single malt was matured for 10 years in traditional 250 litre Oloroso casks from Jerez (Spain) and represents the oldest fully matured sherry cask whisky known to be released by any Australian distillery to date and continues Hellyers Road’s legacy of producing sherry cask whiskies of incredible distinction and quality. Toffee, treacle, orange zest, brioche and clove on the nose. Palate coating with rich caramel, honey, subtle chocolate and stewed fruits. The finish is incredibly smooth and elegant with morish sweet notes.

The first ever release of Sullivans Cove XO Double Cask Brandy is a marriage of ten different casks, each selected for their individual flavour profiles to create a uniquely Tasmanian spirit much more than the sum of its parts. Each brandy in this batch was aged for between nine and ten years in various French Oak ex-tawny and American oak ex-Bourbon casks, distilled from a wide variety of Tasmanian wines including chardonnay, pinot noir, gewurztraminer, sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot to achieve incredible complexity. Old Kempton Distillery's Small Cask Matured Single Malt Whisky is hand crafted on a magnificent heritage-listed property in Kempton, Tasmania, first gazetted to sell spirits in 1836. Weary travellers would stop at the coaching inn overnight on their ride between northern and southern Tasmania and the local innkeeper would revive them with aq good dram. Single cask malt whisky from Overeem in Tasmania aged in a French Oak Sherry quarter cask. This smaller cask leads to greater interaction between wood and liquid during maturation and results in a more intense whisky.

Aged 4yrs in Portuguese sourced Port barrels and re-conditioned in Tasmania, Iron House pure Tasmanian Single Malt Port Cask is an enticing drop. The initial pour sits in the glass with a reddish orange embered hue and greets the nose with a stone fruit, red wine, buttery, sweetened spiced aroma. A palate of red berried wines, dried dark fruit, orange zest, hazelnut oak warmth with a touch of dark chocolate, tobacco and heat.

Hints of dark fruit combine with notes of vanilla bean, salted caramel and marzipan. These flavours meander with the Shiraz spiciness of cinnamon and nutmeg that culminate in a wonderfully long complex finish. The alcohol heat is silky smooth and warms the soul.
