Don Fulano tequilas are made from agaves grown by fifth generation agave growers in the Jalisco highlands of Mexico. They are then distilled in the valley town of Tequila and aged masterfully. This tequila displays notes of caramelised peach, dark chocolate and nutmeg.

Three friends, including two Australians, went on a trip to Guadalajara, Mexico back in 2005. It was there between sips of tequila that they made a pact to begin the journey to make extraordinary tequila. They found partners in maverick master distiller, Marco Cedano, and his son Rodrigo. These were men skilled in the art of turning blue agave into bottled brilliance. Its smooth, viscous finish emits fresh botanical aromas and tasting notes of mint, pineapple and caramel.

Tasting note: This deep gold coloured Anejo conjures frail aromas of incense and potpourri alongside menthol tobacco and lavender honey. Brief air contact reduces the bouquet to oak shavings. Ilegal mezcal is a beautifully balanced vintage mezcal from Tlacolula, Oaxaca Mexico. It is made by a fourth generation Mescalero and his family using 500 year old methods.
