LAURENT PONSOT 1er Cru Cuvée de la Centaurée , Meursault-Charmes

1998 was the first vintage of the E.J. Carr Late Disgorged and this 2007 release celebrates the 10th consecutive release. Meticulously crafted from a tapestry of cold climate vineyards in pristine Tasmania. A rare level of sophistication that redefines the tirage.

Like the Latitude, this is 100% Côte des Blancs Chardonnay (the vineyards are in Cramant, Avize, Oger, and Vertus), yet the vineyards from which it was drawn have thinner topsoils and so the vine roots plunge straight into the chalky bedrock. The name here refers to the vertical nature of the geographic locations of the vineyards as well as the style of wine resulting from the very chalky soils of these sites i.e., a more linear, mineral wine. While Larmandiers Latitude is expansive across the palate, the Longitude is all about minerality, line and raciness. William Kelly has called this wine one of the finest non-vintage bottlings to be found in Champagne and, while the are no reviews available for the 2019 base, the high ratio of reserve wines (40%) and the strength of this low-yielding vintage should leave you will little doubt as the quality on offer.

Joseph Faiveley Meursault 1er Cru "Blagny" Domaine Faiveley A brilliant light yellow colour. The very pleasant expressive and complex nose opens up with floral and slightly woody notes. The attack is bold and frank, then this wine is full and harmonious on the palate. It has a certain vivaciousness, which gives it good length on the palate and very long-lasting aromas.

Leclerc Briant was an early adopter of organic practices beginning in the 1960’s and pioneered the concept of single-vineyard Champagne beginning in the 1970’s. Fifth generation vigneron, Pascal Leclerc began following biodynamic principles in 1988, with part of the production Demeter certified since 2003. Today, enologist Hervé Jestin continues the legacy of this visionary house.
