Planted in the late 19th century, the High Trellis vineyard was the first d'Arenberg vineyard to be trained above knee height. For the past four decades, a Cabernet Sauvignon has been produced from the vineyard to critical acclaim, even winning the Jimmy Watson trophy in 1969. Chester Osborn at d'Arenberg keeps producing great wine, time and time again, and this Shiraz has the best of both worlds with both power and elegance.Deep red black. Strong, inky aromas of black cola and liquorice. Ripe black fruits with blackberry power ruling, with subtle black cherry-like acidity, deep youthful tannins providing latent tension and well-judged supporting oak.

d'Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz is a firm favourite with many McLaren Vale Shiraz lovers and for good reason. This is another great example of the rich, full-bodied style with aromas of ripe blackberry and spice that mingle with minty peppery notes. The palate is full-flavoured, supple in texture with a velvety finish.

The best parcels of wine that make up the Coppermine Road Cabernet mostly come from a rare low-yielding clone which is characterized by its violet and anise perfume, concentration and great acidity.

This is a wine of great generosity and depth. The nose exhibits an abundance of purple fruits, mulberries and plums - with a mix of baking spices including nutmeg, cinnamon and star anise. The palate is fleshy and juicy with an almost velvet like texture. The Grenache adds fruit character and balanced acidity, the Shiraz fills out the wine and delivers early structure while the Mourvedre provides red fruits and dried herb notes and provides a core of fine tannins.

Full of crisp citrus with luscious peach and nectarine stone. Honeysuckle and a hint of melon provide added complexity. The acid backbone coats the mouth and the long herbaceous finish leaves you just wanting more.
