The De Bortoli Melba Vineyard’ at Dixons Creek has a rich history of exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon dating back to the 1970’s. The 'Melba' brand pays tribute to renowned operatic soprano diva, Dame Nellie Melba. 2018 is one of the best vintages of Cabernet we have seen in recent years Warm growing season, even ripening, mild and dry autumn, lots of tannin development. Tempranillo is an easy going red variety and well suited to the climate and deep red soils of Northern Heathcote. With soft fruit and fine tannins, Woodfired Tempranillo has modern grainy flavours, ample structure and savoury tannins. Our Durif is grown on the De Bortoli Shelley’s vineyards on the eastern edge of the Rutherglen region. The site has an interesting gravel, clay and alluvial soil mix with different aspects which helps generate different flavour profiles. Deep dark brooding red with vibrant red hues. This Renaissance Durif has balanced dark berry, chocolate, and licorice with the integrated oak. The grainy tannins are lip coating and are integrated into the soul of the wine. The wine has intensity and power which lingers long after tasting. Complex aromas of dark berries, plums, prunes, licorice with nuances of dried tobacco.
